Though the Everett family is known for its drama on The Family Chantel, Nicole and Lidia Jimeno are also regarded as villains. The sister and mother of Pedro Jimeno have never supported his marriage to Chantel Jimeno, née Everett. Many viewers think Nicole and Lidia expect too much from Pedro and behave in a selfish and greedy manner that interferes with his marriage.
When Pedro and Chantel first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé, Chantel’s American family was highly suspicious of Dominican Republic native Pedro Jimeno’s intentions with Atlanta-beauty Chantel. However, things have not been any easier on Pedro’s side of the family. The Everett family has since made up with Pedro and eventually accepted him into their family. However, Lidia and Nicole have never made amends with Chantel. In fact, Nicole is still actively trying to split Chantel and Pedro up on The Family Chantel season 3 by pushing Pedro towards her best friend Coraima Morla and spreading rumors about them hooking up.
When Pedro arrived in the United States, his goal was to make money to send back to his family in the Dominican Republic. However, Nicole and Lidia continued to demand things from Pedro. Instead of recognizing that Chantel is now Pedro’s priority as his wife, Lidia and Nicole believe they are more important than Chantel since they are Pedro’s biological family. This has worsened the tension between Chantel and her in-laws, especially due to Pedro’s failure to communicate. Rather than explain his financial limitations and priorities to his family, Pedro continues to jeopardize his relationship with Chantel by supporting Lidia and Nicole. What’s worse is that Lidia and Nicole know how they affect Pedro’s marriage but still think they are more significant to Pedro than Chantel.
Pedro does more than just offer financial support to Lidia and Nicole – he is even considering housing them. Nicole and Lidia’s expectations of Pedro are shocking to Chantel. The Family Chantel season 3 saw Pedro and Chantel looking for their first home after she graduated from nursing school. Pedro failed to grasp his income limitations with Chantel and had lofty dreams of purchasing a home with a large basement so his mother and sister can stay with him and Chantel. Lidia and Nicole expect Pedro to provide for them and wouldn’t consider staying in a hotel while visiting. However, the Jimeno family fails to take Chantel’s needs into consideration. Since Nicole and Lidia face Chantel with active hostility, it is easy to see why Chantel would feel uncomfortable with the women staying in her home.
Unfortunately for Chantel, Pedro always appears to side with his mother and sister. Monday night’s new episode of The Family Chantel season 3 saw Pedro snapping at Chantel when she brought up the real possibility that Lidia knew Pedro’s father was married when she had two children with him. Rather than find fault with his family, Pedro is quick to blame Chantel and her family. Although Nicole and Lidia come across as greedy and selfish, Pedro is ultimately the one who prioritizes the women over Chantel and his marriage. Therefore, Pedro is largely to blame for the way his family interferes with his relationship. New episodes of The Family Chantel season 3 will once again see a spiteful Nicole trying to come between Pedro and Chantel.
