10 Jennifer Behind The Mirror (Scream 3)

Most fans agree that Scream 3 is the weak link in the franchise, but it still has some good moments. Parker Posey’s portrayal of Jennifer Jolie just may be the biggest highlight of the film, and her death scene is a memorable part of the film.

The killer stalks Jennifer in a large mansion, specifically behind a one-way mirror. Jennifer tries her hardest to get Dewey’s attention, and she nearly succeeds. The one-way mirror aspect is unique, and viewers cannot help but feel sorry for Jennifer for being only two seconds away from possibly surviving the film.

9 Sidney At Kirby’s House (Scream 4)

Sidney has her fair share of chase scenes in the franchise, and even by the fourth movie, they are still fun to watch. Once Sidney arrives at her cousin’s friend’s house, she has an encounter with the Ghostface killer.

She runs up the stairs and gives the killer a nice kick in the stomach before ending up on the roof, trying to call the police. This is not the first time Sidney ended up on the roof of a house, but the cat-and-mouse brief encounter with the killer on the roof makes the scene memorable.

8 Sidney On The Set Of Stab 3 (Scream 3)

This is another highlight of the third Scream film, and it may be the best scene in the movie. Sidney browses through the set of Stab 3, a sequel to the films based on her previous encounters with Ghostface.

The set is meant to look like her hometown, Woodsboro, the setting of the original movie. There are many callbacks to the first movie leading up to her big chase, and seeing Sidney being attacked in a replica of her old house is fun to watch.

7 Rebecca In The Parking Garage (Scream 4)

In one of the most suspenseful scenes of this installment, Sidney’s publicist is stuck in a parking garage with the killer waiting for his big kill.

She gets a phone call from the killer and gets in her car before finding out that they made sure she would not be able to start her vehicle. Instead of staying put in the car, she gets out and runs to the exit, only for the door handle to break. She turns around and sees the killer charging towards her, right before he kills her. This chase is not very long, but the suspense throughout the whole scene makes it a memorable moment.

6 Sidney’s First Attack (Scream)

Sidney has many encounters with Ghostface, and her first attack is definitely a highlight in the series. She gets her first mysterious phone call and investigates her front porch. After locking herself back in the house, the killer pops out of the closet, knocks her down on the floor, and prepares to stab her.

Sidney kicks him, and when she cannot open the front door in time, she runs up the stairs and ends up safely in her room. It is a great scene in the film, and it is the first moment where viewers realize Sidney will not go down without a fight.

5 Cici At The Omega Beta Zeta House (Scream 2)

Sarah Michelle Gellar’s death scene in this sequel is one of the highlights of the film. It is very reminiscent of Drew Barrymore’s famous performance in the original. It involves a young woman alone in a house getting strange, threatening phone calls. Cici makes the biggest mistake of all when the killer attacks her, and she ends up running up the stairs until the killer stabs her and throws her off the balcony.

It is a very suspenseful scene, and seeing Cici run upstairs gives a clear indication that she is not going to survive her encounter with the killer.

4 Tatum In The Garage (Scream)

Sidney’s best friend gives the killer a good fight before her death. She hits him with a freezer door, throws beer bottles at him, and causes him to flip over and land on his back.

She then makes the worst decision possible and tries to escape by crawling through a doggy door in the garage. She gets stuck, the killer makes the garage door go up, and Tatum ends up having one of the most unique kills in the franchise. It is a very creative death, and watching Tatum put up a good fight before making one bad decision is satisfying and fun to watch.

3 Gale’s Attack On Campus (Scream 2)

Dewey and Gale fight a lot in this sequel, and after they make up, Gale is chased by the killer throughout an empty building on Sidney and Randy’s college campus. She has a suspenseful, quiet cat-and-mouse chase, as the killer tries to find her in a soundproof room.

In another room, behind the glass where Gale is hiding, Dewey is stabbed, and Gale watches with horror as she sees the love of her life supposedly die. The killer tries to get to Gale by attempting to break the thick glass, but they are unsuccessful. It is a great chase scene, and one of the first moments in the franchise where viewers care about Gale’s safety.

2 Casey’s Demise (Scream)

The opening to Scream is one of the best-written scenes in horror movie history. Drew Barrymore gives a fantastic performance as Casey, a teenage girl being harassed by a killer on the phone wanting her to participate in a game of horror movie trivia. The whole scene is suspenseful, and seeing Drew Barrymore die within the first 15 minute of the movie was shocking to viewers everywhere when the film first came out.

The suspense comes from the phone calls with the killer and knowing he is watching her every move. The chase itself is not very long, but the whole scene will always go down as one of the best opening scenes in a horror movie.

1 Sidney At Stu’s House (Scream)

The ending to Scream is basically one long chase scene filled with suspense and terror. The big showdown occurs after many teens leave Stu’s house, which seems to be in the middle of nowhere.

Sidney’s boyfriend Billy is supposedly killed, Sidney is chased and nearly dies after falling off the roof, Gales’ cameraman is murdered, Sidney gets trapped in Dewey’s car, and it all ends with Sidney stepping up to the plate and becoming a true heroine once the identity of the Ghostface killer is revealed. Sidney puts up a good fight throughout the final act of the movie, ending the horror classic on a very high note.
