The Simpsons has parodied many famous brands over the years, but one of the show’s favorite topics to satirize is LEGO. The popular toy brick company has captured the interests of both children and adults, providing The Simpsons with plenty of material for gags.

10 The Blocko Shirt
Bart’s iconic attire rarely changes within the series, but the episode “Hungry, Hungry Homer” sees Bart take on a slightly different look. As the family leave Blockoland, the mischievous prankster swaps his traditional orange shirt for a red alternative built out of building blocks. Bart refers to this shirt as a “LEGO shirt”, before Marge corrects him by insisting it is made by Blocko.
The Blocko shirt makes for a particularly unforgettable sight gag. Bart’s clear discomfort after having to wear this ludicrously bulky item of clothing is hilarious to witness, as he starts to regret his purchase from the Blockoland gift shop. The child’s sarcastic response to Marge’s comments also adds to the scene greatly, acting as a knowing nod to the building block company.
9 Blocko Angelica Button
One of LEGO’s most popular ranges is their line of Harry Potter sets. The fifth episode of The Simpsons’ 23rd season, “The Food Wife”, features a tongue-in-cheek acknowledgment of this iconic LEGO series. Incorporating the animated sitcom’s own equivalent of Harry Potter, “Angelica Button,” the reference can be glimpsed during the Simpsons’ visit to the E4 gaming convention.
“Blocko Angelica Button” is advertised on a poster inside the gaming convention expo and appears to promise an exciting videogame experience for the gamers of Springfield. In a clear parody of the LEGO Harry Potter games, the poster shows LEGO-inspired minifigures of Angelica and her school headmaster Greystash brandishing their wands. It’s a fun allusion to one of the greatest LEGO game series.
8 The Blocko Store
LEGO Stores can be found across the globe, attracting visitors of various demographics. The Simpsons parodies these stores in the episode “The Doh’ical Network,” which also features one of Lenny and Carl’s best quotes.
The Blocko Store allows Springfield residents to buy sets across many different Blocko ranges. Notable examples include kits based on the “Earthland Realm” videogame played by Bart in Season 18’s “Marge Gamer,” and construction toys themed around the “Angelica Button” fantasy series. The shop promises sets for every type of demographic, which reflects the offerings of the real-life LEGO Stores nicely.

For this couch gag, the show’s production team makes spectacular use of the iconic building blocks. The Simpsons’ living room is recreated entirely in LEGO, as a mysterious hand reaches down from above and rebuilds the family out of the famous bricks. The Simpsons family are no stranger to theme parks, having visited a number of these attractions across many different episodes. A particularly noteworthy amusement park, however, is Blockoland, which the Springfield residents visit in the episode “Hungry, Hungry Homer.”
Blockoland is a clear riff on the popular LEGOLand theme parks, deeply satirizing the concept of an amusement park based around the building blocks. Springfield’s Blockoland is built exclusively out of Blocko bricks, with the park’s rides disassembled for overnight storage at the end of each day. The attraction is divided into three zones entitled “Rectangle Land”, “Cube Country” and “Squaresville”, and features a cafeteria where guests build their own food out of edible blocks. Blockoland is one of The Simpsons’ best LEGO parodies yet.
5 Bart’s Monopoly Cheat
Another brand frequently referenced in the animated sitcom is Monopoly, with one in-universe edition of the game being responsible for one of ten things viewers may not know about Edna Krabappel. LEGO provides Bart with an apt way to cheat at the iconic board game in the episode “Brawl In The Family,” which opens with a particularly eventful play session.
In this installment, Bart uses LEGO pieces to build himself extra hotels, in order to bankrupt the others in the household. When the rest of his family discover his deceit, a spectacular fight breaks out which ends with the Simpsons being arrested for their violent behavior. Bart’s methods of cheating are an ingenious use of the popular building bricks, and his actions result in one of the show’s most hilarious scenes yet.
4 Blocko Cosmic Wars
Star Wars is responsible for some of LEGO’s most well-known themes, so it’s no surprise that The Simpsons decided to parody this range. The “Blocko Cosmic Wars” range has appeared in two episodes to date, “The Food Wife” and “The Doh-ical Network,” making it a particularly prominent reference to LEGO within the series.
Blocko has created both construction sets and videogames based around Springfield’s answer to Star Wars. The Simpsons family’s visit to the E4 gaming convention in “The Food Wife” sees the group stumble across a booth allowing visitors to try out the latest Blocko Cosmic Wars game. Meanwhile, in “The Doh-ical Network,” Lisa comes across a Blocko Cosmic Wars set entitled “Chubba The Shedd’s Dust Palace.” These nods to LEGO are both funny and timeless, as they effectively make light of a licensed theme that still remains popular to this day.
3 LEGOLand
LEGOLand theme parks remain a constant place of interest for families, with attractions located across the globe. Springfield is no exception, which features both a LEGO amusement park as well as their own alternative, Blockoland. Springfield’s LEGOLand can be glimpsed in Season 14’s “C.E. D’oh”, which sees Homer become one of the franchise’s most overpowered characters, when he becomes the Nuclear Power Plant’s new CEO.
This take on the famous tourist attraction ends in disaster, after Mr. Burns deviously opts to dump nuclear waste underneath the park. The outcome of Burns’ nefarious actions sees various buildings within the complex come to life. Whilst a LEGO version of the United States Capitol terrorizes some rather unfortunate kids, another park visitor is stabbed by the Eiffel Tower, creating a hilariously bonkers moment.
2 Brick Me Like
The success of The LEGO Movie has led to many spin-offs themed around the popular building blocks, but one of the best comes in The Simpsons’ 25th season. Considered one of the Simpsons’ most underrated episodes, “Brick Like Me” sees Homer thrown into a world where everything is made out of LEGO.
Featuring a number of clever nods and in-jokes to the iconic construction toys, “Brick Like Me” is one of the show’s greatest installments. The episode includes references to everything from LEGO’s Duplo sets to their long-running pirates theme, acting as a true love letter to the brick building company.
1 Blocko Eiffel Tower
As one of Springfield’s most popular attractions, Blockoland has created many happy memories for residents of the cartoon town. Visitors can remember their time at the theme park by browsing the souvenir stand, which offers plenty of gifts for purchase. One of these items is glimpsed in the episode “Hungry, Hungry Homer,” as the Simpsons family returns home after visiting the amusement park.
Lisa leaves the park with a Blocko construction kit based on the Eiffel Tower, which she builds in the back of Homer’s car. The child is disappointed however to discover that a piece is missing, which prompts Homer to drive back to the attraction and retrieve the missing piece. Lisa’s model is a fun riff on LEGO’s “Architecture” range, which has seen the company release sets based on various iconic landmarks.
