Partly thanks to Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Bob Odenkirk is now a household name. While his television alter ego, Saul Goodman is likely more popular than he is right now, there’s no doubt that the fictional character wouldn’t have been such a memorable one if not for Odenkirk’s acting chops.

Speaking of his thespian prowess, Bob Odenkirk has been around long enough in Hollywood to have a good portfolio of movies he’s in. So if you want to see just how flexible he can be apart from playing as the slickest criminal lawyer ever, check out these films with his name on them.

10 WAYNE’S WORLD 2 – 61%

Yup, he’s here alright, part of the legendary Wayne’s World franchise, specifically Wayne’s World 2. Still, you might not recognize him or even acknowledge his existence in the movie since Bob Odenkirk is pretending to be a huge dweeb here with messy hair and eyeglasses.

His appearance is rather brief and probably something you wouldn’t notice. In any case, it’s Wayne’s World, it’s worth watching again– just be on the lookout for a geek with a prominent forehead and a throaty voice.

9 GIANT MECHANICAL MAN – 70%

The film’s title is indeed weird and that’s probably why it didn’t do relatively well in the box office, barely earning more than $6,000 but the general consensus is that it’s a good movie. Giant Mechanical Man is the story of two struggling human beings who ended up building each other’s self-worth.

Sadly, Bob Odenkirk is a bit scarce here as he only plays as Mark who is the brother of the male protagonist’s ex-girlfriend. Even so, it’s him in a normal civil role which is something you’re probably not used to after all his shenanigans in Better Call Saul.

8 RUN RONNIE RUN! – 71%

Turns out Bob Odenkirk is not just an actor and a comedian, he’s also a screenwriter and a director sometimes. One of the comedy films he’s written and acted in would be Run Ronnie Run!, an HBO comedy sketch that got turned into a full-length film.

Bob Odenkirk is one of the main characters here named Terry Twillstein, a struggling TV personality with questionable morals and cares only about sales and getting views so much as to partner up with a criminal to achieve his goals… sounds familiar.

7 I AM CHRIS FARLEY – 71%

I Am Chris Farley isn’t exactly fiction– it’s more like a documentary or even a biopic dedicated to the titular comedian from Saturday Night Live. It features the career highlights and the interesting life of Chris Farley who passed away back in 1997.

It also involves plenty of interviews with Chris Farley’s friends, most of which are co-stars and colleagues in the stand-up comedy scene. One of these is Bob Odenkirk who was also a stand-up comedian himself at one point in his career.

6 BLOOD INTO WINE – 71%

Blood Into Wine is another documentary film but don’t let that put you off if you think you’re gonna see Bob Odenkirk in his unmasked self here. He actually plays an eccentric Frenchman in this film named Jean-Pierre Maillard.

Jean has an obsession with wine-making so much as to suck the nectar of fresh grapes claiming that those are the best kind of wine. If you would love to see just how hilarious Bob Odenkirk can get with a pompous pseudo-deep French persona, do watch this comedy documentary.

5 NEBRASKA – 81%

This film wouldn’t be the first time we see Bob Odenkirk surrounded by a bunch of senior citizens– as per Better Call Saul but it sure is just as interesting. Nebraska is about an old man’s belated dream of becoming a millionaire which may or may end up being a scam.

Bob Odenkirk plays a guy named Ross Grant, a television news anchor and the oldest son of the said old man. Grant, together with his younger brother, tries to help their turbulent father supposedly “claim” his million dollars somewhere in Nebraska.

4 LONG SHOT – 82%

It’s not often a comedian gets to play as a President of the United States (or maybe it is) but Bob Odenkirk gets that chance in Seth Rogen’s romantic comedy film, Long Shot. It’s basically Seth Rogen’s character, Fred Flarsky, having chemistry with his former baby sitter named Charlotte Field played by Charlize Theron who happens to be running for president.

In the film, the current president is played by none other than Bob Odenkirk himself. Don’t expect much of him though, he only does a cameo role here and has a brief appearance. Even so, Long Shot is a comedy film worth your time.

3 THE POST – 88%

Speaking of political movies, The Post is also another one which cast Bob Odenkirk in another role where he wears a suit. The Post is a period drama based on a true story where an editor-in-chief of The Washington Posts partners up with their publisher to risk their lives uncovering a scandalous Vietnam War story.

Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep take the center stage here but Bob Odenkirk shines bright in the sidelines as Ben Bagdikian who is also a real person which helped with the said investigative story.

2 INCREDIBLES 2 – 94%

He might not be here physically but Bob Odenkirk’s voice in Incredibles 2 is undeniable. He lends his vocal talent to Pixar in bringing to life a businessman who’s morally straight– which is a nice change of scenery for Bob Odenkirk.

The said character is a media owner named Winston Deavor who was betrayed by his sister after harboring a life-long grudge for superheroes. Even as a “good” guy here, it’s Bob Odenkirk’s usual habitat– a role where he markets something like a true conman.

1 LITTLE WOMEN – 95%

Last but not certainly not least, Little Women. It’s the film adaptation of an American classic novel by Louisa May Alcott. It’s the story of Alcott’s fictional alter ego, Jo March as she reflects on a fictional life with her sisters.

Here Bob Odenkirk is Father March, an important character for the girls in their development as he’s an American Civil War veteran and someone who nearly died many times in the story but survived. Nothing big or too challenging for Odenkirk, given his ordeals as Saul Goodman.
