10 Best Sibling Rivalries In The MCU & Marvel Comics
Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have plenty of siblings and most of them don’t get along, causing lots of drama.

Marvel Comics is ripe with family drama. There are parents and children who battle each other, and while these offer some of the best dramatic scenes in comics, there are even better battles when it comes down to sibling rivalry. This has also carried over to the movies that adapt the comics to the big screen and Disney+ in the MCU.
There are siblings in the comics that do not exist in the movies and there are sibling rivalries that exist in comics that have never manifested themselves in the movies. However, at the same time, there are also sibling rivalries in the Marvel movies that are even bigger than those in the comics.
10 Natasha Romanoff & Yelena Belova
While not true blood siblings, Natasha and Yelena were sisters placed in America as part of a Soviet sleeper cell in Black Widow. Yelena didn’t know she was not a true sister to Natasha, and that played out when they reunited years later.
The two battled the first time they saw each other, and they were evenly matched, something that was seen in the comics as well, as Belova is the only true equal to Natasha in the Red Room. In the comics, they were never siblings, but that connection carried the movie.
9 T’Challa & Shuri
Not all sibling rivalries exist to cause conflict. In the cast of Black Panther and his sister Shuri, it is not about battling each other. It is about the younger sister trying to match up to her brother’s greatness and actually surpassing him on a scientific level.
Shuri is easily one of the smartest people in the Marvel Universe and the MCU, and she reached this point partially thanks to the sibling rivalry with her brother. In the comics, it even went as far as allowing Shuri to replace T’Challa as a Black Panther.
8 Gamora & Nebula
In the MCU, one of the most heated sibling rivalries came in Guardians of the Galaxy between sisters Gamora and Nebula. This was very similar to the rivalry between Black Widow and Yelena Belova, as they are not blood-related but were trained as assassins by Thanos.
He also pitted Gamora and Nebula against each other, forcing them to constantly fight and compete to be the best. On top of that, he tortured Nebula when she fell short and created true hatred between the two women.
7 Thor & Loki
The most famous sibling rivalry in the MCU pitted Thor against his brother Loki. This was true Shakespearian tragedy, with Thor the pureblood son marked for the throne and Loki the adopted son who knew he never had a chance for glory or his father’s love.
In the comics, Loki’s jealousy caused him to try to destroy Thor and ended up creating the Avengers. The same thing eventually happened in the movies. Their story was complex and satisfying as they finally united in the end to work together.
6 Thor & Hela
While nowhere near as iconic or personal as his sibling rivalry with Loki, the rivalry in Thor: Ragnarok between Thor and his sister Hela was even deadlier. The difference here is that Hela was the elder sister and one that Thor nor Loki ever knew existed.
When Odin died, Hela escaped her banishment and returned to try to take over Asgard for herself. What she ended up doing was causing the entire destruction of Asgard, with this sibling rivalry destroying the home of the gods.
5 Captain Britain & Psylocke
This sibling rivalry goes three ways at times. Brian Braddock was the original Captain Britain and Elizabeth Braddock was the former Psylocke. They have another brother in James Braddock, but the true rivalry here is the one between the twins, Brian and Betsy.
In present-day Marvel Comics, Elizabeth even went as far as to become the new Captain Britain. James has become even more trouble lately as the new King of Avalon.
4 Cyclops & Havok
Cyclops was one of the first members of the X-Men. Scott Summers over the years became a leader and one of the most important mutants in history. His brother is Alex Summers, and the two had been separated since their parents died. When they finally reunited, Havok and Cyclops endured years of sibling rivalry.
They have teamed together and they have also battled each other. In the aftermath of Avengers V. X-Men, Havok finally got his chance to serve as a leader while Cyclops was a fugitive. On Krakoa in the present-day, Cyclops is a leader again and Havok is on the outside looking in as part of The Hellions.
3 Northstar & Aurora
Northstar and Aurora are twin siblings whose powers are connected. However, for years, they had a sibling rivalry that, at one time, split them up and forced them to live apart for many years. They were former members of Alpha Flight who could amplify their powers when touching.
However, they also were very different. Northstar was a celebrity and very arrogant while Aurora had dissociative identity disorder, with a wild side and a prude side battling for control. The siblings had a falling out and she had Sasquatch make it impossible for them to touch each other to increase their powers. It took many years to finally reunite.
2 Professor X & Juggernaut
The Marvel X-Men movies have never dealt with this sibling rivalry. Juggernaut appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand, but he was nothing more than one of Magneto’s minions. He appeared in Deadpool 2, but he was just a nemesis for Colossus.
In the comics, Cain Marko and Charles Xavier are brothers. However, while Professor X is one of the world’s most powerful mutants, Juggernaut is not a mutant and gained his powers from a mystical gem. They have never been on the same page.
1 Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch have always been connected. They started out as members of The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and then both turned good and joined The Avengers. However, since that time, the two have been on both sides and Wanda even killed her brother at one point.
In the movies, they were beloved siblings and were the only people they could trust for years. In WandaVision, Quicksilver showed up again, and Wanda showed how much she loved him, but it was a ruse. With Wanda hated by most mutants, her relationship with her brother has always been strained.
