Although there is a lot of action, serious moments, destruction, and even death throughout the Harry Potter movie franchise, there are still a lot of comedic moments and some moments of romance between the characters as they grow up at Hogwarts. These intimate moments remind the audience how much the characters care about each other among the threats and danger.

Although the large cast of eccentric Harry Potter characters have a lot of responsibilities and have to often make sacrifices for the fight between good and evil, there are adorable and romantic moments throughout the franchise as well.

10 Ron And Hermione’s First Kiss

Although the actual moment when Ron and Hermione finally do kiss is played off for more of a comedic effect when they narrowly survive a threat and they immediately start kissing, it’s still a sweet moment after a slow burn romance throughout multiple movies in the franchise. Fans wanted to see this couple get together and had to wait a long time for them to finally kiss, and it was worth the wait.

9 Harry And Cho’s First Kiss

Harry and Cho’s first kiss was a very romantic moment in the movies as it happened in a romantic setting under the mistletoe. It was a cute and innocent moment that did have some build-up throughout the series as Harry was interested in her for a while. Although the two didn’t end up together in the end, it was still a cute and romantic moment.

8 Viktor Krum Loves And Respects Hermione

Viktor Krum visits and stays at Hogwarts in the fourth movie along with his fellow Durmstrang students during the Triwizard Tournament when he’s chosen as Durmstrang’s champion to compete in the tournament. Krum becomes infatuated with Hermione as he follows her around Hogwarts hoping to run into her just to have a moment or two.

He finally gets up the courage to ask her to the Yule Ball, and she accepts, much to Ron’s dismay. Although things don’t work out between Hermione and Viktor, they had adorable moments and Krum was able to respect her decision even though he had such intense feelings for her.

7 Hermione Casts Confundus

Hermione decides to help out Ron during the Quidditch tryouts by cheating a little bit and casting a confundus charm on Ron’s competitor to make the team. Hermione finds their fellow student arrogant and becomes upset when she overhears him insulting both Ron and Ginny before the tryouts so she decides to cast a spell on him to confuse him during the tryouts and give Ron a better chance at making the team.

6 Ron And Hermione Play Piano

Ron and Hermione share a cute and intimate moment in the movies when Hermione tries to teach Ron how to play a song on the piano. It’s a small moment, but it is quite adorable and romantic even though Harry is in the room with them as well. It alleviates some of the tension in the later movies to have a quiet and intimate moment like this between a couple that ends up together at the end of the franchise.

5 Harry And Ginny’s First Kiss

This quiet and intimate moment between Ginny and Harry is romantic as the two are alone searching the Room of Requirement. Ginny asks Harry to close his eyes and he does while a soft musical number plays in the background. Again it’s a quiet and romantic moment amongst the chaos and death of the latter movies as Ginny goes out of frame, leaving Harry wondering what will happen next, and she decides to kiss him.

4 Ron Tries To Defend Hermione

Ron attempts to curse Draco after he hears him using slurs against Hermione because Hermione’s entire family isn’t magic. Although it backfires, it’s still a great gesture that might not be entirely romantic at the time since the three had just met. Ron and Harry hadn’t been entirely accepting of Hermione at the beginning, so it was nice and reassuring to see that Ron was willing to defend her.

3 Fleur Still Loves Bill With His Scars

The Weasley family was never fully accepting of Fleur when their son Bill began dating her and announced they were to be married, but she proved that she would love him no matter what and their relationship was stronger than his family’s ambivalence and surface looks. The family assumed she wouldn’t want to be with him anymore after Bill was attacked by a werewolf and left with his face scarred, but she wasn’t deterred at all and the two were married and lived happily ever after.

2 Tonks’ Wolf Patronus

Lupin and Tonks begin a relationship and the two are quite happy together, but Lupin often worries about Tonks’ safety due to the fact that he is a werewolf. Lupin wonders if they should even be together, not because he doesn’t love her, but because he might hurt her and he doesn’t want her to have to deal with the stigma and difficulty of his condition.

Tonks pleads with him and says that she would never want to leave him to the point where her Patronus turns into a wolf in an undeniable show of her love for Lupin.

1 Snape Says Always

Snape was portrayed as an antagonist for most of the franchise, but Harry learned later on that Snape truly cared and loved his mother Lily, and he was continually looking out for her son the entire time. Although Snape never seemed like he was the biggest fan of Harry, he still loved Lily and would do anything for her and Harry in life or death. He sacrifices himself in the end for Harry and says that he will always love Lily while showing that his Patronus is the same as theirs, a doe.
