In Octodad, gamers need to complete what would otherwise be boring and mundane tasks, but with eight arms, controlling Octodad becomes an absolute nightmare in the most hilarious way possible.
The game is hard, but it’s meant to be hard, because the humor comes from watching Octodad’s inability to do anything without accidentally knocking over tables, spilling the milk, tripping his kids, and more.
9 Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
If someone were to ask what exactly Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is, it would be difficult to find a simple answer. It’s a turn-based strategy RPG game (SRPG), which in itself isn’t exactly funny. However, Nintendo decided to mashup the Mario universe with Rabbids, those lovable (and troublemaking) antagonists that originated in the Rayman franchise.
The concept is bizarre and could have easily become an absolute trainwreck. However, thanks to the great storytellers at Nintendo, the game was a hit and is hilarious to play. In fact, a whole lineup of games in the sub-franchise are now slated for release.
8 Say No More!
Say No More! is a short game, but it offers up a lot of laughs. Gamers take control of an intern on their first day at the office. However, upon arrival, it becomes clear the company’s employees are anything but nice. Stealing lunches, snide remarks, and a complete lack of empathy make the internship a hellish experience.
It’s up to players to discover the ability to say “No!” to rude colleagues and evil bosses. What unfolds is a completely surreal and hysterical experience of simply learning the joys and pleasures of screaming “NO!” over and over and over and over.
7 Grim Fandango
In the remastered version of the award-winning 1998 game, players follow an epic story centered around Manny, a travel agent to the dead. But dark forces are at work and a secret conspiracy is underway to hinder the ability for souls to cross over. Grim Fandango combined elements of death mythology with old noir films like Casablanca to produce a stunning and engrossing world.
The game is also extremely funny. Great dialogue, tons of fun easter eggs, snarky asides, and situational humor make Gram Fandango feel more like a movie than a game. it was also made by LucasArts during the company’s heyday, so the game was created by some of the best in the industry.

In Kill It With Fire, gamers have one simple mission: to kill spiders. To accomplish this, players are given an entire arsenal of tools to get the job done. From handguns to throwing stars, flame throwers, grenades, and more, there are endless options for killing all the creepy crawly creatures lingering underneath beds and inside dresser drawers.

Flipping Death is like the storyline of Dead Like Me meets the animation from the best Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes, all created with the neon-infused colors of Invader Zim. In the game, young Penny dies under mysterious circumstances and then awakens only to find herself filling in for the Grim Reaper. Now tasked with a thankless job, Penny must possess the living to help the dead.
The game mechanics of possessing characters leads to tons of laugh-out-loud moments and the entire vibe of the game is filled with a sense of dark humor.
4 Untitled Goose Game
Untitled Goose Game is very simple. Gamers take control of a goose whose only goal in life is to ruin people’s day. From stealing food to knocking people over and causing fights, there’s no stopping a goose with a mission. The game became a breakout hit and went on to sell millions of copies.
In 2020, the game added a co-op feature allowing two players to cause twice the mayhem with two geese on the loose. Many gamers might also be surprised to hear that the Nintendo Switch was actually the first console the game was released on, with the PS4 and Xbox One versions not coming until a few months later.
3 Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator
Dream Daddy follows a single father who just moved into a new neighborhood. Luckily, the neighborhood is also filled with tons of other single fathers, all of whom are looking for romance. It’s up to gamers to date them all and discover who is the perfect dream daddy.
The game is full of hilarious dialogue, ridiculous encounters, and crazy minigames (including one that plays out like a Pokémon battle where the two daddies try to out-brag each other about their daughters). 2 West Of Loathing
West of Loathing is a hard game to describe. It’s a black and white sidescroller filled with stick figures and takes players on a journey through the Wild West. It has RPG elements, turn-based fighting scenes, and most importantly, award-winning hysterical dialogue and scene writing.
The best way to look at West of Loathing is to imagine a totally zany, interactive Oregon Trail. The game ended up on numerous Top Games lists in 2017 and even went on to be nominated for awards at SXSW and the Independent Games Festival.
1 South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Early-era South Park games were known for being a bit lousy. Both South Park Rally and South Park: Chef’s Luv Shack received tepid reviews upon their release in the late ’90s. However, the games have since become critical and commercial successes. In 2014, South Park made the leap into the RPG realm with The Stick of Truth, which was praised by critics and gamers.
Then, in 2017, The Fractured But Whole continued the RPG storyline. This time around, the story follows the running Coon and Friends gag that produced some of South Park’s best episodes. However, a rampant crime wave in South Park suddenly turns the kid’s game into a real-life mission to save the town. The game is (of course) raunchy, absurd, offensive, and fall-off-your-chair funny.
