In He Knows You’re Alone, a woman is stalked the weekend before her wedding by a serial killer. Hanks plays a very minor role in the film as a fellow student of the bride-to-be who questions her if she is truly being followed.

It is of note that Hanks’s character was originally supposed to be killed and the corresponding death scene was going to be shown on screen. However, the director found Hanks so likable that the filmmakers didn’t even bother to film his death scene and left his fate open to audience interpretation.
