10 Harry Potter Characters Least To Most Likely To Win Squid Game

Most of the characters in Harry Potter have been through life-or-death situations before. How would some of the key characters fair in Squid Game?

Many characters within the Harry Potter series battle for their lives on numerous occasions, particularly during the famous Battle of Hogwarts. During the battle, some characters fight on the side of good, while others fight alongside the villainous Lord Voldemort, and a few find their loyalties divided.

Even if wands were not allowed, most of the Harry Potter characters would have some degree of magic on their side if they were to participate in Squid Game. Some characters might get through mostly on luck and by playing fairly like Seong Gi-hun, others might play erratically like Han Mi-nyeo, and a fair few might scheme and deceive throughout the game like Cho Sang-woo.

10 Dobby The House-Elf

Dobby the eouse-Elf is a loyal and trusted ally to Harry and he has one of the most heartbreaking deaths in Harry Potter. The elf’s disapparating abilities would help him to avoid the more murderous players of Squid Game and would give him an undeniable advantage in games like Red Light, Green Light.

That said, some might see his adorable nature and innocent disposition as a weakness. Dobby could become an easy target to pick off between the games. Ultimately, while he shouldn’t be underestimated due to his natural ability to disapparate, he’s unlikely to understand most of the games and would probably sacrifice himself for someone else due to his strong sense of loyalty.

9 Hermione Granger

Hermione may be one of the most intelligent characters in the series but this could actually work against her in Squid Game. She is often considered the brightest witch of her age and has an almost encyclopedic knowledge when it comes to spells.

However, she finds Wizard’s Chess barbaric and has a strong moral compass, so she would probably outright refuse to participate in the games. Also, as she is a stickler for rules and regulations and isn’t particularly cunning, she would be a clear target for the more calculating contestants in between the games. Furthermore, Hermione would likely get on the wrong side of the guards as she refuses to back down when she feels something is unjust.

8 Bellatrix Lestrange

Bellatrix is arguably the most powerful Death Eater in Harry Potter and is responsible for killing a number of heroic characters including Sirius, Dobby, and Tonks. Her ruthless nature would certainly benefit her in Squid Game as she would have no qualms with taking out her fellow competitors.

Yet, while some other players may be able to hide their true gameplan, Bellatrix is not known for her subtlety. She would align herself with the most despicable players but would also be quick to make enemies and would play erratically like Han Mi-nyeo. While Bellatrix would certainly take out a large number of her competitors, her loose-cannon personality and unshakable loyalty to Voldemort would ultimately lose her the game.

7 Ron Weasley

Ron would be underestimated during Squid Game, which would be an advantage for him. He is no stranger to playing explosive and strategic games as seen by his capability at Wizard’s Chess. And while he has a tendency to panic, Ron steps up and takes a stand when it really matters.

During the climax of the first Harry Potter movie, Ron expertly navigates the Golden Trio through the life-sized game of Wizard’s Chess and is willing to sacrifice himself for his friends. But although his strengths of strategic gameplay and bravery would prove useful in Squid Game, his nerves would get the better of him in games such as Red Light, Green Light, or the glass bridge. Also, he could be taken out between the games by any other wizarding players who are more proficient with spells — especially if any of them can conjure up a spider.

6 Draco Malfoy

Due to his upbringing, Draco finds himself aligned with the Death Eaters and Voldemort. However, while he doesn’t have much choice in this, he is still arrogant and cruel towards his peers at Hogwarts for no reason other than his own enjoyment. As he does with Crabbe and Goyle, Draco would successfully form alliances in Squid Game with physically strong yet less intelligent participants whom he could easily manipulate.

Draco’s intimidation of other players would ensure he went far in the game but his alliances would be based purely on fear and he would likely play similarly to Jang Deok-su. However, unlike Deok-su, Draco would only be successful in manipulating the weaker players and would be too cowardly to take on stronger and more ruthless participants.

5 Albus Dumbledore

As headmaster of Hogwarts, Dumbledore is famously wise and powerful. But because of his age he would likely be overlooked in Squid Game, especially if the other players didn’t know who he was.

Dumbledore would benefit from the other participants’ perception of him, using his wisdom to strategize before each game while lying low for as long as possible. One of Dumbledore’s worst traits in Harry Potter that would help him excel here is his tendency to be manipulative. During his duel with Voldemort in the fifth Harry Potter movie, Dumbledore shows just how powerful he really is, which he would surely reveal in the final few rounds of Squid Game while rejoicing the fact he had been sorely underestimated.

4 Harry Potter

As the main protagonist of his series, Harry is likely to go far in Squid Game in a similar way to Seong Gi-hun. Harry has a number of strengths that would benefit him in the game. For example, he excels at the Quidditch almost immediately and can cast a fully formed Patronus from a young age.

The agility Harry shows in Quidditch would be useful in most of the games, and the darker side to his personality would allow him to be ruthless when he needs to be. If wands were allowed within the game, his Patronus would form the ultimate protection from the other players, too. Ultimately though, Harry will always remain loyal to his allies, which could put him at a disadvantage in Squid Game.

3 Sirius Black

Sirius is the closest thing Harry has to family and during their short time together he proves just how loyal he is to his godson. While Sirius is clearly aligned with the Order, he also spent many years wrongly imprisoned in Azkaban and is clearly very resilient.

Unlike some other characters, he wouldn’t be intimidated by the more sadistic and erratic players within Squid Game as these are the kinds of people he will have spent time with in prison. Also, Sirius is an Animagus, so he could sneak around the facility in his dog form in between the games in order to avoid the other players and gain crucial information. Even if wands weren’t allowed within the facility, he would still be able to transform and use his ability to his advantage.

2 Severus Snape

Snape is one of the most complex and powerful Slytherin characters from Harry Potter. He leaves the audience guessing about his true motivations right until the end of the series. As shown by his agreement with Dumbledore and his treatment of Harry, Snape is not afraid to be ruthless or overlook his own grievances for the greater good.

He spends many years successfully deceiving Lord Voldemort when he is working as a double agent, so he would be able to intercept different groups within Squid Game. He is also highly intelligent and is a skilled Legilimens, which would allow him to intercept other players’ thoughts in order to be one step ahead.

1 Lord Voldemort

Voldemort is the main antagonist in the Harry Potter series and also one of the most powerful characters. He can successfully rally followers as seen through the loyalty of his Death Eaters, and he is absolutely merciless, killing and torturing many innocent people.

Voldemort would use his power to convince the most sadistic players to take out his biggest competition in Squid Game. One of his strongest motivations is his desire to survive and live forever, so he would win the games by any means necessary. Also, due to his Horcruxes, Voldemort could lose several of the games without truly being out of the competition; he would continue to live on as seen several times within the Harry Potter series.
