The Last Kingdom is one of the most popular and critically successful Netflix Originals of the past few years. Adapted from the Bernard Cornwell novel series of the same name, the series is set in Saxon England and shows the clashes between the Saxons and the invading forces of Vikings.

Despite the fact that the series is brutal in terms of its violent subject matter, it also has some tender and emotional scenes that reveal the softer side to some of the characters. As a consequence, this article will list the 10 most BF worthy characters in the Last Kingdom.

10 Aldhelm

Aldhelm is one of the most loyal characters in the Last Kingdom. Aldhelm is a loyal servant to Merci and, despite originally being the sidekick to the slimy Æthelred, Aldhelm would go on to grow close to Æthelflæd and show the true nature of his character.

Aldhelm is an attractive, loyal, and brave character who may be one of the most underrated characters in the show. He easily deserves a place on this list.

9 Finan

The first of Uhtred’s ‘band of merry men’ to appear on this list, Finan is an Irish warrior who has shown his loyalty and bravery throughout the series. Despite the odds being stacked against them at several points in the series, Finan has shown that he will never abandon Uhtred and his friends.

8 Osferth

Osferth may not be the first character you associate with the category of ‘BF worthy’. Osferth is the bastard child of King Alfred and was sent to a monastery in order to avoid embarrassment for the deeply religious and devout King Alfred of Wessex.

7 Sigtryggr

When the audience was first introduced to the Viking Sigtryggr, most viewers would’ve expected this new Dane leader to be one of the new villains after he invades Wales. While, initially, this was the case as Sigtryggr would capture Winchester with the help of the revenge fuelled Brida, Sigtryggr would show himself to be a calm and considered leader.

Sigtryggr is a leader who wishes to avoid conflict whenever possible and, as shown by his interactions with Uhtred’s daughter, is a kind and intelligent person.

6 Oswald/ Young Uhtred

Reappearing in season 4 of the Last Kingdom, Uhtred’s son finally reconnected with his father, joining him on several adventures across the season. While initially treating his father with contempt, Young Uhtred would finally learn to understand his father and forgive him for his past crimes.

Young Uhtred is a good-humored and forgiving character who is more than capable of showing his brave side at times. He easily deserves a place on this list.

5 King Edward

Prior to season 4, Uhtred would always end up locking horns with King Alfred, the ruler of Wessex. However, Alfred died in season 3, leaving his son Alfred as heir to the throne. While some fans may have thought Edward’s rise to the throne would put an end to Uhtred’s frequent clashes with kings to rest, they would be wrong.

That being said, King Edward is one of the most attractive characters on the show and has a good heart, despite making several mistakes.

4 Ragnar

Ragnar was one of the main characters of the series, until he was unceremoniously killed off by the slimy Æthelwold. Ragnar was the adopted brother of Uhtred and, despite being a Dane and frequently being on the opposite side of the battlefield to Uhtred, still remained close to Uhtred.

Ragnar is one of the most honorable Vikings in the series, with Ragnar treating both his friends and enemies with respect. His relationship with Brida also shows that he is a fantastic partner.

3 Sihtric

Sihtric is a member of Uhtred’s ‘band of merry men’ and is, arguably, the most attractive person on the Last Kingdom. In addition to good looks, Sihtric has also shown that he is a loyal and brave person who is more than willing to risk his own life to help Uhtred.

Furthermore, Sihtric, much like the rest of Uhtred’s gang, is one of the funniest characters on the show, with the warrior having a subtle yet funny personality.

2 Father Beocca

Despite the fact that he is certainly older than many others on this list, Beocca was one of the most relatable and warmest characters in the series. He is incredibly loyal to Uhtred and is more than willing to risk his life for those he cares about.

Additionally, the show also revealed that Beocca is a doting and loving partner, as his relationship with Thyra showed. His relationship with Thyra showed a different side to Beocca’s character, it’s a shame that this couldn’t be explored more.

1 Uhtred

Naturally, Uhtred had to take this place at the head of this list. Despite the fact that Uhtred is a flawed character who is prone to bursts of stubbornness and anger, he is ultimately a good character who does everything in his power to protect the ones he loves.

In addition to this loyalty to his family and friends, he is also, clearly a muscle-bound and attractive man, which easily makes him BF worthy.
