10 Most Wholesome Bromance Moments In Friends

The friendship between Ross, Chandler, and Joey often resulted in some of the most wholesome and sweet bromance scenes in Friends.

Joey Tribianni and Chandler Bing have undoubtedly one of the purest and most adored friendships on television, consistently being one of the best aspects of Friends across ten seasons. Throw in Ross, and three great pairings plus one amazing trio who provide so many hilarious and emotional moments across a decade of TV are born.

Joey and Chandler, in particular, have a pure, lovable relationship, having a bromance that spawns wholesome moments ranging from hugs to forgiveness to more hugs, with Ross’ addition to the pair helping to provide even more.

10 Joey Asks Chandler To Attend His Movie Premiere

Joey’s career as an actor was very unstable throughout Friends, but Chandler was always there helping however he could, believing in his friend, and this seemed to pay off when Joey got a big break in a feature film.

Joey was able to bring one friend to the premiere of the film and chose Chandler, with the two having a touching moment as Chandler tells Joey how proud he is of him. This would be far higher on the list had Chandler not ruined it by falling asleep in the middle of the movie.

9 Taking A Nap

One of the sillier one-episode subplots shared between two of the men in the group came when Joey and Ross found themselves clamoring to nap together after accidentally doing so on Ross’ couch.

Played as though the two were in a relationship, the story was lighthearted, and seeing the two finally give in and nap with one another on Joey’s couch was sweet and also funny with everyone watching on.

8 The Joey Room

Another one that would be higher if not for the aftermath, Joey’s whole attitude towards Chandler and Monica moving may have been a bit childish, but it was still sweet how much he cared for the two.

This was seemingly rewarded when Joey went to visit their new home, and Chandler let him know there was a Joey room at their new home, something that made Joey very happy. Of course, Joey ended up moving to L.A., but the moment was wholesome nonetheless, especially with Joey’s reaction.

7 Chandler Comforts Joey Over The Phone

It was an upsetting time for the gang when Chandler had to move to Tulsa for work in season 9, particularly Monica and Joey. The latter had some serious separation anxiety.

When Chandler does leave for Tulsa, Joey phones him while he is at the airport, making him promise to call him when he lands and hogging the phone from Monica. The reveal that Chandler was talking to Joey and not Monica was hilarious, and while it was once again a child-like from Joey, it was still quite adorable from the pair.

6 Ross Gets Chandler Down The Aisle

Monica helps Chandler overcome so many of his issues and his insecurities, but that did not stop Chandler from having a freakout before his wedding and then in steps wedding expert Ross Geller.

The two do not share Joey and Chandler’s levels of emotional intimacy throughout the episode where Ross tries to get Chandler up the aisle. But, just the whole idea of Ross helping Chandler in every way he can and keeping his emotions in check, for the most part, considering Chandler is marrying his sister, is amazing and is one of the nicest things Ross does in the entire show.

5 Joey Lets Chandler Out Of The Box

Joey rarely does anything to hurt any of the other friends; he definitely never does so deliberately. Although, as great of a character as he is, Chandler does make a couple of bad mistakes.

The worst of which was kissing Joey’s girlfriend Kathy, resulting in him spending Thanksgiving in a box to make it up to his friend. It took a lot of heart for Joey to let Chandler out of the box to actually go after Kathy considering what had happened, but he does it, of course. When the two makeup and hug, it is incredibly touching, and the moment was a prime example of how great of a friend Joey is.

4 Co-Parenting The Chick & The Duck

Each of the three guys in Friends has a close pet at one point or another, with the animals being standout characters during their time on the show; Joey and Chandler’s Chick and Duck, along with Marcel, are iconic.

There are some great moments shared between Joey and Chandler and the Chick and Duck, from their bathing the duck to the actual adoption of the pets itself. The adopted child-like pets only further the bromance between the two.

3 Ross Chooses Co-Best Men

Ross’s marriage to Emily is the only one of Ross’s weddings fans got to see in the show regarding the actual build-up to it, with a proposal, a bachelor party, and selection of a best man, which he flip flops between Chandler and Joey.

In another touching Duck and Chick moment, when the Duck is at the vet after eating Ross’ wedding ring, with Joey worried sick, Ross tells Chandler and Joey he wants them both to be the best man at his wedding, a moment that leads to all three of them sharing a tear.

2 The Last One

There are many emotions for fans throughout “The Last One,” from the Ross/Rachel story to the twins to the general packing away of the apartment. Thankfully, Joey and Chandler also got their chance to say goodbye to the audience.

Off the bat, the two have one last foosball game and say goodbye to the iconic table. Perhaps the most wholesome moment from the two in the finale is one of their best, most touching hugs as they transition from lame cool guy handshake to heartfelt hug that signifies a true end of an era for the pair.

1 Joey Moves Out & Back In

Joey and Chandler’s time living together is a constant highlight of Friends’ early seasons, so when Joey temporarily moves out into his own apartment, it is fairly heartbreaking.

When he does pack up his stuff and leave, he comes back and hugs Chandler from behind, which is one of their most tear-inducing moments together. A few episodes later, though, the two are hugging because, thankfully, Joey has returned home. These two moments are a pair of the best for the two characters, and they show off the range of emotions Friends is capable of when using its best bromance.
