A Cure For Wellness is a drama horror definitely has a fantastical spin, but it also incorporates crime, mystery, and asylums. A young executive tries to get his CEO to return from a ‘wellness center’ in the Swiss Alps, but he’s suddenly caught in their trap.

From spa treatments to pills, this wellness center is not what meets the eye, and it turns out it’s a lot harder to leave than expected. With Dane DeHaan, this flick definitely is more on the fantasy and horror side, but is a riveting watch.

5 Manic (2001)

With Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel, this drama follows a young man, who after a violent stunt at school, is sent to a mental institution. There, him and his fellow teenagers grapple with their lives together.

However, the lines between insane and sane have never been more blurry. With the era, crime angle, and thrilling mystery, this flick might just be the perfect binge before tackling Ratched.

3 Girl, Interrupted (1999)

Girl, Interrupted stars Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie, and follows a young woman’s 18-month stay at a mental institution. Taking place in the 1960s, this flick is about morality, feminism, illness, and wellness.
