The Undoing is the latest hit from producer/writer/creator David E. Kelley, who is also known for critically-acclaimed shows like Boston Legal, The Practice, Ally McBeal, and Big Little Lies. The mini-series sees Kelly reunite with Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman as she plays a therapist and devoted mother who finds herself wrapped up in a shocking whodunit mystery that implicates her husband (Hugh Grant) in a murder.

There is currently no word if the show will return for a season two, though there is some consensus that it is unlikely. That said, viewers who enjoyed the series should also check out these movies.

10 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

For anyone who enjoys a bit of blast from the past, here’s a murder mystery film headlined by a slightly younger Robert Downey Jr.. In Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Downey plays a crook named Harry who stumbles into an audition while trying to run away from the cop, and, when he gets the part, he and his girlfriend (Michelle Monaghan) also get caught up with a murder conspiracy. It a great postmodern noir film that leaves you both entertained and intrigued. Aside from Downey, the movie also features a spectacular performance from Val Kilmer.

9 A Simple Favor

This movie centers on a puzzling mystery—murder may or may not be involved, we don’t want to spoil it for anyone. A Simple Favor revolves around a single mother named Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) who befriends a mysterious upper-class woman named Emily (Blake Lively), who also has a child attending the same school. One day, Emily mysteriously disappears, and Stephanie takes it upon herself to figure out what happened to her friend. Aside from Lively and Kendrick, the movie also stars Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding.

8 Gone Girl

Just like in The Undoing, a woman (Rosamund Pike) is murdered, and, almost immediately, the husband (Ben Affleck), is suspected of the crime. In Gone Girl, though, the husband also remains the primary suspect all throughout. That said, it also turns out that he might not be as innocent as he claims to be.

Affleck is highly praised for his performance in this seriously twisted mystery movie. Even today, we can’t get enough of that moment towards the end when he says, “You f****** b****.” Anyone who’s already seen the movie would know why this like is quite significant.

7 Sherlock Holmes

Downey played the titular character in this 2009 movie, while Jude Law played Dr. John Watson, Sherlock’s assistance and perhaps only real friend. In the movie, the two men work together to uncover a plot that threatens all of England.

Meanwhile, in the 2011 sequel, they go after the notorious Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris). It may have been years since the last Sherlock Holmes movie aired. Lucky for fans, though, Downey isn’t done playing detective yet; Sherlock Holmes’ third installment is slated for release later this year.

6 Murder Mystery

Unlike The Undoing, which takes on a serious tone ninety-percent of the time, Murder Mystery is a whodunit movie that has a much lighter tone, thanks, in part, to the tandem between veteran actors and good friends Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.

In the movie, they play a couple who gets implicated in the murder of an elderly billionaire. Admittedly, this Netflix film failed to impress critics. That said, it’s a good movie to binge-watch for anyone looking for something light-hearted and intriguing at the same time.

5 Murder On The Orient Express

Based on an Agatha Christie novel of the same name, this 2017 mystery thriller revolves around a murder that takes place inside a traveling train. Fortunately, a famous detective (Kenneth Branagh) also happens to be on board, and he is tasked with solving the case.

Just like that, it seems like everyone is a suspect. Aside from Branagh, the cast also includes several familiar faces such as Judy Dench, Olivia Colman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Willem Dafoe, Josh Gad, Johnny Dep, Penelope Cruz, Daisy Ridley, and Leslie Odom Jr.

4 A Perfect Getaway

Just as the title suggested, there’s supposed to be a dream vacation involved here. In this case, it’s a honeymoon to Hawaii for a newly-wed couple that’s played by Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich. But, then, when they reach their destination, the couple realizes that there’s a psychopath who’s on a murderous rampage, specifically targeting tourists trying to enjoy the island.

The movie also stars Timothy Olyphant and Chris Hemsworth. Admittedly, this is not one of Hemsworth’s best films. That said, A Perfect Getaway is perfect for anyone looking for a good scare.

3 Game Night

Here’s another movie for anyone who wants a whodunit movie that is not so serious—or terrifyingly twisted—as The Undoing. This 2018 movie begins with a group of friends who meet up for another game night. Only, this time, they get caught up in a real-life mystery after someone’s brother gets kidnapped by a supposedly dangerous group of gangsters.

The film is intriguing and hilarious, and the all-star cast includes Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, and Kyle Chandler. At the moment, the film can be rented on VUDU.

2 The Girl On The Train

There’s a lesson to be learned here for people who live their lives vicariously through others. When they’re not careful, one can end up at the center of a murder investigation, much like Emily Blunt’s character in this movie.

Here, Blunt is quite literally the girl on the train who rides regularly to get to and from work. Her daily commute affords her a glimpse of a woman who lives near the railroad, and, when the woman goes missing, she becomes entangled in the mystery.

1 Knives Out

This 2019 mystery comedy deals with the mysterious death of crime novelist Harlan Thrombey, played by the late Christopher Plummer. Following his death, an investigation ensues, and the authorities almost immediately assume that Thrombey’s entire dysfunctional family are suspects in the case.

They are portrayed by actors Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Toni Colette, and Don Johnson. Arguably, it’s the best ensemble movie to come out quite recently. Meanwhile, Ana de Armas plays Harlan’s nurse, while Daniel Craig plays a detective. Knives Out also features one of Plummer’s best onscreen performances.
