Regardless of how fans are currently feeling about Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling, the story of the young wizard still remains as popular as ever. It’s a truly timeless tale of friendship, bravery and doing what’s right even when the right thing is in fact the hardest. All of that being said, Rowling would have to do a lot more than tweet to get fans to back away from her masterpiece.

While the book and film series is beloved, that doesn’t mean fans have resisted the urge to tweak things a bit to better fit their own perfect version of the story. Just like with other fandoms, Potterheads love to create fan fiction, fan theories and of course, fan art. Some of these artistic creations completely change the story.

10 From Enemies To Soulmates

For as long as the Harry Potter series has been around, fans have been pairing up their ideal couples. A few of these pairings have been more popular with groups of Potterheads than others and one that many seem to agree on is Harry and Draco.

Artist Naschi created this stunning piece for Deviantart and it’s clear from their work that they are a firm believer in the Harry and Draco being soulmates theory. While the artist is still leaning into Harry being good and Draco bad, the elements of love and longing they added cannot be denied.

9 Rocking Out

Even though the initial installments of the series are geared more towards a younger crowd, the overall story is still one of great tragedy and loss. While there are fun, lighthearted moments spread out through the entire journey, it’s not all that often that fans get to watch the Golden Trio kick back and relax.

Luckily, artist Jaymetwins on Deviantart was able to give the fandom just that. In this piece of impressive and hilarious artwork, fans get to see what the Trio does in their downtime. Just imagine Arthur Weasley’s excitement if he were to walk in and see them playing Rock Band.

8 Gender Swap

Gender swaps have always been a popular route for fan art creations. In terms of swapping around the genders of the main characters in the Harry Potter series, the idea actually works a lot better than it would with other franchises. Especially in terms of the Trio, none of them were written to have stereotypical gender traits.

This impressive piece was created by HoneyJadeCrab for Deviantart. The artist did a fantastic job recreating each character’s hair to fit their new role and even added Crookshanks as a bonus. Thankfully, they knew better than to include Scabbers…

7 Dramione

Dramione has been a fan favorite pairing since the story first kicked off. While Hermione and Ron were ultimately endgame in the series, plenty of fans have taken to pointing out all of the reasons why they were in fact wrong for each other.

In this piece, created by Mariyand-R for Deviantart, Hermione’s love for Draco is clear. The brave Gryffindor is not only embracing the cunning Slytherin here, but is also wrapped up in what seems to be his pet snake. Hermione was always the smartest, so if anyone would be able to see something in Draco that nobody else could, it would be her.

6 The Happiest Of Times

It’s rather unfortunate how little fans get to read about or see of Harry’s first year. From the moment fans met Harry, he was an orphan and while he did gain plenty of friends and family along the way, many would have loved the opportunity to explore the brief period in his life before all the tragedy hit.

Artist Lefantone on Deviantart was clearly one of these fans. Using their artistry, they were able to put together this happy scene. Harry’s family is intact, he is living in a loving home and while Pettigrew is lingering, he poses no danger with so many fierce fighters in the room.

5 A Different Side Of Riddle

While it’s usually not painted as such in fictional stories, world domination would be an extremely taxing goal. Now, in the case of Voldemort, his downtime would more likely be spent stroking Nagini’s head or toying with one of his minions’ minds, but who knows, maybe the Dark Lord also has a secret thing for knitting.

This piece of comical fan art was created by Madcarrot and posted on Deviantart. This artist obviously believes there may be a soft spot to Voldemort after all.

4 What Could Have Been

Of all the unlikely pairings fans have put together and shipped over the years, Voldemort and Bellatrix actually make a lot of sense. Of course, Tom Riddle isn’t capable of feeling emotions like love, but if he had managed to master such a thing, Bellatrix would have made an excellent choice.

Artist Deslea created this stunning piece for Deviantart and while they surely realise that this could never be, fans have to appreciate the effort and thought that went into this. Just imagine how much Bellatrix would cherish having a copy of this piece for herself.

3 Pick A Side

With Voldemort out of the picture, The Wizarding World was able to return to happier times. While fans did get to celebrate Harry’s birthday in every installment of the series, it’s interesting to get a peek at the parties he and Draco would later throw for their children.

This breathtaking view was created by AnastasiaMantihora and posted on Deviantart. The contrast between the two family celebrations could not be anymore accurate or stunning for that matter. Molly Weasley wiping away a tear is a glorious touch.

2 A Different Look

Here, fans are getting a look at a modernized version of the popular Hogwarts students. While the essence of each character has been kept, it’s interesting to imagine just how different the story would be had it happened today in our universe, as opposed to The Wizarding World.

Artist MeoMai of Deviantart did an excellent job picking out modern clothing for each character. Lavender would no doubt rock a pair of Uggs and most fans would find it hard to believe that Luna Lovegood actress, Evanna Lynch, doesn’t already own this exact ensemble.

1 Horcrux Hunting

Now, this scene is not actually all that different from what fans saw of Harry and Hermione’s time Horcrux hunting during Ron’s absence. However, while in the film we did see the two share a heartwarming dance, there was never anything romantic between them.

Deviantart creator AnastasiaMantihora, clearly wanted to hint at there being something between these two characters. While fans love to debate whether or not Hermione should have actually been with Harry, sometimes it’s just fun to look at what could have been.
