10 Things From The Games That Should Make It Into Castlevania Season 4

The Castlevania franchise has always been lurking in the background, just like its main antagonist, Dracula. The games have received moderate success over the years, but at the same time, they’ve never really, really broken through to the mainstream video game player, unless they’re into the retro stuff.

When it comes to the Netflix series though, it’s not only loved by fans of the series, but also by critics and people who have never entered Castle Dracula in their life. Since tons of people will most likely delve into the game after seeing the show, here is some great stuff from the games that would take the show to the next level.

10 The Use Of Future Settings

While the Castlevania series is known for taking place mostly in Castle Dracula, there’s more to the setting than just that. The games generally follow the centuries-long feud between the Belmont clan and Dracula’s horde of monsters, usually including him as the final boss.

That being said, it follows this struggle throughout time, meaning some well-done time travel elements to the story would be really interesting.

9 Kid Dracula

While Kid Dracula might not be everyone’s favorite, let alone even a well-known character, he’s really fun and cute, and it would be nice to just once maybe see an Alucard Chibi animation that shows him transforming into something reminiscent of him.

Kid Dracula is the protagonist of an old game of the same name, who isn’t exactly established to be either Dracula or Alucard. Either way, it’d be a great nod to fans of the niche moments of the franchise’s history.

8 Death

A major player in the video game series who we really haven’t seen outside of the games is Death himself. He might be just as integral to the series as Dracula depending on who you ask. Death is almost always aligned with Dracula, stealing Alucard’s powers and equipment during the beginning of Symphony Of The Night.

Fans haven’t seen an appearance yet, although there were plenty of opportunities in the episodes that have been released thus far.

7 Taking A Note From Aria Of Sorrow

One of the fan-favorites of the genre is Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow, for the GameBoy Advance. The game was produced by Koji Igarashi, who’s also responsible for the Castlevania homage Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night.

One of the most interesting things about the game is that it takes place in the future. The other big thing about it is that Dracula is reincarnated as the player character, Soma Cruz. This alternate character could be a really interesting way to bring Dracula back.

6 More Recognizable Characters

While Trevor is a really fun Belmont for the show, and Alucard and Sypha are great, it still feels like maybe the show would be helped by some of the more historically relevant Belmonts, like Simon and Richter.

While at the end of the day it doesn’t matter a ton, the few glimpses we’ve seen into the Belmonts’ world like the library have been intriguing. Not only that, but if they did play with a time dynamic as was mentioned earlier, Simon and Richter could definitely show up.

5 Sub-weapons For Trevor

While the whip is the most iconic weapon in the series (and for good reason), one could argue that the inclusion of sub weapons is also iconic. The creator of the franchise came up with the whip idea because he liked Indiana Jones, and it is indeed super cool.

That being said, where are the throwing axes? The holy water? The Chakrams? If Trevor had a toolbelt at his disposal loaded up with crosses to throw, he’d be unstoppable.

4 Original Arrangements Of Themes From The Games

Alongside the great gameplay and engaging story, the series is also known for having an incredible soundtrack. From tracks like Vampire Killer to Poison Mind, it’s really almost on par with The Legend Of Zelda’s composition.

If the show were to feature themes from the show at points where it made sense to include a soundtrack, fans would absolutely go nuts at features from some of the more iconic tracks arranged for a 40-piece orchestra or something like that.

3 The God Mask

The God Mask is an artifact that exists only in the reboot series and not in the original iteration of the games. That being said, the artifact has really interesting implications and could form an entirely new element in the show.

While the Lords Of Shadow games that Kojima worked on haven’t garnered quite as much praise as his other works, it’s still a really cool concept. It could also potentially be used to bring Dracula back, or just as a JoJo’s reference.

2 Count Olrox

While the series was originally created to pay homage to all of the classic Universal monsters, fans really don’t see much of the campy, spooky, fun aspects of the games in the show.

It’s obvious that the showrunners are going for a different tone, but that being said, some characters being involved like Count Olrox would be a good way to introduce that kind of element without going overboard into the realm of parody.

1 Dracula’s Transformation

One of the coolest moments in the franchise, especially if a player was a kid at the time, is starting the section at the beginning of Symphony Of The Night which is actually also the end of the ill-fated Rondo Of Blood. In addition to the fact that one plays as a fully powered-up Belmont, they can’t die, and witnessing Dracula’s transformation into a giant green demon pretty much shows off the scope of what players must deal with later on.

For whatever reason though, Dracula missed an opportunity to use this form in his fight with Alucard.
