It is apparent that Doug would go on to be one of the most important series from this network. It was one of the original Nicktoons, but what would really allow it to stand out was its fantastic storytelling and realism.

Following the progression of Doug Funnie was truly a treat, as his entire story was quite intriguing. The impact this show would have on the network was immensely strong at the end of the day, so it warrants all the praise in the world.

9 Sank It: Planet Sheen

Although The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius was a major success for the network, its spinoff, Planet Sheen, was a disaster. This show absolutely could not grasp the magic of the original series, which would make people turn sours towards it very quickly.

The entire premise of this show was a bit off, and, to be perfectly honest, Sheen as the main character was a massive mistake from the beginning. He simply was better suited as a side character, as following him for an entire series was quite tiring given his overly-eccentric personality.

8 Carried It: Ren & Stimpy

Ren & Stimpy is beloved to this very day by its audience, so, naturally, it was extremely popular during its original run. This should not come as too surprising, as its humor was not only incredibly smart, but it was also shockingly mature at points and was almost better-suited for adult audiences.

That said, this show created an identity for Nickelodeon, which ultimately would allow them to become a legitimate competitor among other animated television networks. Without Ren & Stimpy, Nickelodeon may not have lasted all that long.

7 Sank It: Sanjay And Craig

Everything that has gone wrong with Nickelodeon can be seen through Sanjay And Craig. It was a failure from the minute it was released, as all it ultimately would aim to do was create weird and random storylines, and its outrageous premise would wear thin very quickly.

This show would, naturally, end fairly early on in its lifecycle, which was the right move from the network. It truly was unable to create stories that its viewers could resonate with, which would of course lead to its inevitable downfall.

6 Carried It: Rugrats

In terms of its premise, Rugrats was incredibly unique for its time, which would allow the show to blossom into one of the network’s bests. This was evidenced by the fact that it would last for over a decade and would receive three movies.

Thus, this show absolutely carried the network. It makes sense, at the end of the day, as well, as this show did a marvelous job creating deep and realistic storylines through the eyes of babies. Having fantastic writing and loveable characters also did not hurt its legacy.

5 Sank It: The X’s

One of the most forgettable shows in the history of television, The X’s would be a pretty abysmal experiment from the network. Perhaps the biggest issue with this series was the fact that it was immensely unoriginal.

The action in this show was not bad, but it was done so much and lacked any true identity of its own. Therefore, this show would not last long on the network at all, as it failed to gain any attention from potential viewers.

The humor in Rocko’s Modern Life was its best quality, as it never failed to make its audience laugh. It certainly would also succeed with the fact that it properly utilized adult jokes, which helped it gain attention from older viewers as well.

Rocko as a main character was nothing short of splendid, as it was quite easy to relate to him and his overall misfortunes. Also, the other characters around him were all marvelous. Overall, this show was just a gem and something Nickelodeon needs to try to replicate in the future in terms of quality.

3 Sank It: Fanboy & Chum Chum

Oh, man. Fanboy & Chum Chum epitomizes exactly why Nickelodeon has fallen off in quality over the years. This show had no business even being released, as it was quite challenging to find a single positive element about it, it was that poorly composed.

The humor in this show was honestly quite irritating the vast majority of the time, as it was repetitive and often involved flatuelence. Even the theme song of this show was horrible, so, naturally, it would be disliked by most of its audience.

2 Carried It: Hey Arnold!

In terms of realism, Hey Arnold! performed at an elite level. This show did such a marvelous job with displaying real-life events that it made it far more than just for kids. This show provided more than a few lessons that adults can even relate to at this present time.

Not only were the main characters stupendous, but the side characters were, as well. It ultimately would be what would make so many people love this series so much. As for its humor, it was clever and unforgettable. This easily carried the network during its run.

1 Sank It: The Fairly Odd Parents

The beginning of The Fairly Odd Parents was actually quite impressive. However, as time would go on, this show would drop in quality severely, yet it would not be permanently canceled for a number of years.

The show lost its magic—metaphorically speaking, at least—and had clearly run out of ideas. However, they kept adding new characters, such as Sparky and Chloe, with the latter leading to a horrendous change in the theme song. Through this series alone, one could easily see just how much the network dropped in quality.
