Starfox, also known as Eros, has been traversing the stars long before he met mass audiences courtesy of his famous portrayer. Eternals introduced viewers to the brother of Thanos, opening up a treasure trove of material for the films to adapt for years.

Whether solo against his mad sibling or side-by-side with fellow heroic adventurers against smaller threats, Starfox’s enemies have steadily grown as the pages have turned. He wins, he loses, but Eros always loves the sport of it all. Testing his might against those wishing him or others ill is just too enjoyable!

9 Thanos’ Thralls Fall Under Starfox

Thanos is Eros’ most infamous foe, with a sibling rivalry spanning planets, galaxies, and universe designations. The younger Starfox acts as a counter to the Mad Titan and consistently finds himself on the opposing side of the latter’s machinations. Captain Marvel #27, a title in the midst of the Thanos War, sees the resistance fighters on Titan making a stand as the titular hero does battle with Thanos’ lieutenant: the Super-Skrull. Starfox clashes with the thralls of Thanos, alongside his father Mentor, and the attempt is successful. The two even dream of retaking the planet following the victory.

8 Starfox Has Nebula Beat Until She Reveals Their Family Connection

Family drama runs in the blood of spacefaring heroes and tyrants. Avengers #260 picks up in the midst of Secret Wars II and sees Eros pursuing Nebula to recover Thanos’ ship, Sanctuary II. Believing himself the rightful owner, he briefly battles Nebula and gets the upper hand until she reveals their familial connection: Nebula is Thanos’ granddaughter, thereby making Starfox her great uncle.

Stunned by this revelation, Eros is nearly subdued before being saved by the Beyonder. The event heavily influences Starfox’s actions for many issues afterward.

7 Starfox Overrides Controller’s Control

An accidental hero is still a hero. Starfox is using his powers on Monica Rambeau after her strange behavior is noted by his fellow Avengers. A failsafe, implemented by the telepathic Controller, sends shockwaves through Rambeau and Eros’ bodies. While painful, Starfox’s attempt at reading his teammates’ emotions free her of Controller’s manipulations and allow the heroes to find him. These events from Avengers: Unplugged #5 demonstrate less Eros’ prowess and more his charming recklessness.

6 Starfox Teams Up With Captain Marvel And Thor Against Plantman

Starfox has found himself assisting (and joining) the Avengers several times throughout his time in print. Given his love for Earth, it’s only natural he would want it to remain safe and sound. He backed that up with the toppling of several notable foes during his tenure. Avengers #232 has Starfox as an Avenger-In-Training, accompanying Thor and Captain Marvel in their fight against Plantman. The terrestrial villain is attacking a tanker with animated kelp and the three swiftly subdue him. As per usual, Starfox does most of this with a smile on his face.

5 Starfox Sees Through Annihilus

Thanos’ brother shows his aptitude in Avengers #233 when he notices something his teammates do not. With the Avengers befuddled, Starfox speaks up with his observations regarding their foe, Annihilus. He calmly explains his perspective to the frantic heroes and this ultimately leads to Annihilus’ defeat.

His super-strength and emotional guidance don’t account for the wisdom entailed by years of facing evil. Starfox’s adept eye for the manipulative may perhaps be his greatest asset.

4 Starfox Takes On Blackout & Moonstone With The Avengers

Another notable adventure as part of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Avengers #238 sees Starfox and company pursuing fugitives Blackout and Moonstone. The discovery of their location is directly the result of Eros’ initiative with the immobile Vision. The Eternal’s home planet is run by the computer, ISAAC, and he believes this computer could aid in Vision’s recovery. Not only does it do so, it expands Vision’s awareness tenfold; his newfound scope allows him to find the criminals the Avengers are after.

3 Starfox Gives Ultron An Identity Crisis

Ultron is a formidable foe that requires an entire team of supers to contend with. Nevertheless, Starfox managed to unwind the string of Ultron’s rage with his empath powers. Avengers: Rage of Ultron presents a world where the titular villain has run rampant and merged with Hank Pym in his crusade. Both personalities within one enemy present the potential for massive destruction, but Eros finds an admittedly simple way to combat it: he tries to force Ultron to love himself. The result is a crisis of identity and reflection that brings an end to this age of superintelligence.

2 The Population Of Earth-2149

There are no zombies like superhuman zombies. Marvel Zombies brings stark depravity and violence to the reputably chipper pages of the publisher, seeing readers’ favorite heroes desperately consume flesh to the point of ridding the world of nearly all inhabitants.

In short, the predators have run out of food to eat and this simple objective gives comic fans a fresh look at how necessary inspiring heroes are. A crossover with Army of Darkness brings Eros to this undead reality and his massacre of the civilian population is not shown, but rather inferred by the state of things.

1 Servitors Of The Infinites

Further adventures with the Avengers see Starfox responding to a call for help in the Rigellian Empire. Alongside Thor, Photon, and Tigra, Eros battles mechanical beings called Servitors. These machines swarm and replicate, but the numbers seem to inspire more courage from Starfox. The fun-loving Titan always finds worthy foes with Earth’s Mightiest that challenge his abilities and intelligence. An automated threat affords beings like Eros to chance to cut loose and show others (and himself) what he is capable of.
