90 Day Fiancé Armando Clears Up Rumors About His Mormon Faith

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Armando Rubio has been getting a lot of questions about him being Mormon after he made the shocking revelation on the Tell-All. Devout Mormon man Steven’s many dirty secrets were exposed during the 90 Day Fiancé reunion episode. Fans were increasingly tired of Steven trying to use his Mormon faith to control and manipulate Alina in their short relationship. He also expects Alina to convert and adhere to strict standards while he’s continuing to do the opposite. This hypocrisy of Steven was called out during the Tell-All by his cast members who have been Mormon, including Armando who’d never spoken about it before or after he married Kenneth Niedermeier.

While Kenny and Armando have always been fan favorites in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, some fans seem to not know a lot about them. Quite recently, Kenny had to tackle a fan who questioned Armando’s job when he revealed that apart from owning a successful pet business, Armando is also an architect. A lot of talk has also been generated around Armando’s ex-wife who’s little Hannah’s mom. He also had to clear up the confusion about the heartbreaking death of his pregnant ex and what had led to her dying in a car crash. Similarly, rumors about how Armando’s English on 90 Day Fiancé is so perfect also seem to show up every once in a while on the internet.

It appears that when Armando confronted Steven about showing Alina the Book of Mormon and doing the complete opposite during the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Tell-All he received a lot of DMs about it. After Steven compared himself to Nelson Mandela, Armando spoke of the Utah native not living up to the standards of the LDS faith and the responsibilities that it entails. In his Instagram story, Armando wrote, “Clarifying based on the many questions I’m getting in my DMs: My parents did not raise me Mormon.” In fact, Armando was the only Mormon in his family.

“I joined the Church at a very young age,” Armando explained. He was around 12 years old then. “All on my own through mutual friends who invited me,” he added. Armando continued, “So much at the time had to do with struggling with my sexuality (unknowingly.)” He was also looking to get answers from God. “I now know God loves me for who I am,” Armando wrote for his Instagram followers to know. Because of the scene between Armando and Steven, some fans thought that the reason why the Rubio family was so resistant to him coming out could have been them being Mormon.

A few alleged that Armando may have converted for his late ex. However, Armando’s explanation has finally put these speculations to rest. It’s still interesting to fans that quite a few cast members from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way and several other spinoffs are Mormon. One of the first couples from the faith were Alan and Kirlyam Cox from 90 Day Fiancé season 1. But getting to know about this new detail of Armando’s past was apparently a “plot twist” for some of the viewers.
