Big Ed Brown confirmed his engagement to Liz Woods ahead of the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff 90 Day: The Single Life premiere on discovery+ only for his ex-girlfriend to get slammed by Instagram fans. Although news about Big Ed and Liz getting married soon floated on the internet in August, the announcement has come as shock to fans who’d watched Liz share a petition to get Big Ed canceled from the show. Not just that, after their breakup on 90 Day: The Single Life season 1, a leaked phone call featured Liz talking to a verbally abusive and irate Big Ed.

Fans came to suspect that Liz, 28, and 56-year-old Ed getting engaged despite everything was them clout chasing and maintaining a fake relationship. The validity of Big Ed and Liz’s romance has also been questioned as both are believed to be hungry for attention. Single mother Liz has had wavering opinions about her “narcissist” soon-to-be husband. This has made her come across as unreliable with some claiming that she could be the one who’s playing both Ed and 90 Day Fiancé fans. Besides, becoming a reality TV star has also launched Liz’s career as an influencer, and being with Big Ed did land her a new season of the spin-off.

Fans who tried to be in denial about Big Ed and Liz really being engaged were shocked to find out that the former photographer has confirmed the gossip right before 90 Day: The Single Life season 2 arrives. Both 90 Day Fiancé and TLC on Instagram shared photos of Liz and Big Ed flaunting the “biggest diamond” he could find. “‘We are each other’s forever, and, yes, we are engaged!’ ” said the caption echoing Big Ed’s big revelation. Most of the post comments are either asking Liz to run or blaming her for being desperate.

“You have to wonder her self-esteem is so low to be with him,” one 90 Day Fiancé viewer commented. While “Liz must want to be famous really bad to go this pathetic route,” interjected another. “So all that stuff about mental abuse was fake for attention? Classy,” asked a fan, and “Baby girl we know you just want the bag” joked someone else. A few fans questioned Liz if her tears during the Tell-All were a result of good acting. However, a majority of the page’s followers also feigned disappointment at the network. They are blaming TLC for having intentionally spoiled the new 90 Day: The Single Life season. Apart from Big Ed and Liz, another loathed couple, Jesse Meester and Jeniffer Tarazona have also been accused of posting spoilers about their supposed “single life.”

Big Ed has been unlikable since the start of his 90 Day Fiancé debut for his controversial treatment of Rose Vega that included him asking her to get an STD test and to shave her legs to him, in addition to keeping his vasectomy a secret. The hashtag “#CancelBigEd” is often seen on Instagram posts featuring him from fans who have boycotted the problematic San Diego man Big Ed. Liz has also faced criticism by association. But several viewers who have been plugged into the drama do believe that the restaurant manager is also manipulative herself.
