90 Day Fiancé Stephanie Confuses Fans With Specific Dating Preferences

Season 2 of 90 Day: The Single Life just premiered, but viewers are already confused by what exactly Stephanie Matto is seeking when it comes to a romantic partner. Stephanie first appeared on the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off show 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way as one half of the first same-sex couple in the franchise. However, her relationship with Australian Erika Owens left viewers disappointed and angry, and Stephanie was accused of faking her sexuality. Now, The Single Life viewers are equally confused as to what Stephanie wants when it comes to dating.

Though Stephanie and Erika were dating long distance, things did not click when Stephanie visited her girlfriend. She appeared to have zero romantic feelings for Erika and refused any form of intimacy, which led to her cold actions making her a franchise villain. However, that didn’t prevent Stephanie from being cast on The Single Life season 2. The season premiere saw openly bisexual Stephanie telling cameras she was ready to break her two and a half years of celibacy. Though Stephanie lacked chemistry with her male date, she admitted to being attracted to her female hairdresser, with who she even took a bath and filmed an intimate video.

Reddit user U/ofsed_lobstrosity took to the platform to discuss Stephanie’s confusing dating desires. “So, she doesn’t like guys, she hates balls, finds women more exciting, some days she’s ‘a lesbian,’ but she has never actually tried to date a woman?” the confused user wrote. Some users began theorizing that Stephanie only appeared on the show to promote her recently launched NSFW platform Unfiltrd. “I really think she just thinks up things to say that sound quirky to her and will turn people on enough to go to her OnlyFans,” one top commenter theorized. “I literally said this to my husband earlier. ‘She thinks she’s being quirky, but she’s really just insane,'” another commenter wrote back. Many commenters agreed Stephanie was trying too hard to portray herself as different rather than genuinely showing who she is.

While viewers thought Stephanie was trying too hard to stand out, others thought her sexual comments were extreme and uncomfortable. It seemed like Stephanie was trying too hard to shock viewers and demonstrate how open she is when it comes to discussing sexual preferences. “I think her identity is basically #notlikeothergirls,” one commenter wrote. Others thought the American was all talk. “The simplest explanation from highschool still holds true: the people who talk and brag the most about sex are still the people who are the most insecure, unsatisfied, and having the least sex,” another commenter weighed in. Overall, many commenters thought Stephanie appeared confused by what she wants.

Stephanie’s popularity among franchise fans appears to be continually low. Her relationship with Erika raised many suspicious, as Stephanie appeared deeply uncomfortable and unwilling to be with Erika. While viewers speculated she was trying to promote her YouTube career at the time, it now appears to be a popular theory that she is being salacious and eccentric on The Single Life to draw more customers to her new online platform. However, Stephanie isn’t the only casting disappointment. The Single Life season 2 is already being called out by many franchise fans for casting controversial personalities, including Big Ed Brown, Natalie Mordovtseva, and Jesse Meester.
