All 18 Marvel Shows Releasing After SpiderMan No Way Home (& When)

Now that Spider-Man: No Way Home is out in the world, audiences can look ahead to the future of Marvel’s slate – here’s every upcoming Marvel show and its potential release date. Beginning in 2021, Marvel expanded the franchise by launching on Disney+. First out of the gate was WandaVision, the critically acclaimed series that set up Scarlet Witch’s adventures in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after examining Wanda Maximoff’s grief at the loss of Vision. It also introduced characters like Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, who will appear in The Marvels, and Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, who will be getting a Disney+ spinoff of her own, House of Harkness.

Marvel continued their hot streak with two more series in the first half of 2021, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki. Although WandaVision served as a more self-contained television show, riffing on iconic sitcoms of the past, both Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki showed that Marvel’s streaming shows will affect the future of the wider MCU on a grand scale. Falcon and the Winter Soldier will lead directly into Sam Wilson’s Captain America 4, the Star-Spangled Avenger’s next big theatrical adventure.

Marvel’s streaming shows also served to break the multiverse wide open. Loki’s time-traveling and universe-hopping adventures introduced one of the MCU’s next Thanos-level threats in Jonathan Majors’ He Who Remains, a variant of Kang the Conqueror, who could end up taking over the MCU come 2023. The studio’s first foray into animation with Marvel’s What If…? also put on display the truly wild possibilities of the multiverse, taking classic MCU stories and giving them an alt-world twist. Marvel is capping off the year with a callback to the early years of the MCU, though, giving Clint Barton his due in Hawkeye, a show that has also introduced Kate Bishop and setting up even more upcoming shows. With all this setup and some still to come, Marvel’s television slate is being fleshed out to rival its theatrical branch – here’s every upcoming Marvel television show after Spider-Man: No Way Home and when they could release.

Ms. Marvel – Early 2022

Before her debut in 2023’s Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels, Kamala Khan will get the spotlight in her own MCU Disney+ show. Iman Vellani is set to take on the titular role of Ms. Marvel, who looks to be getting a new set of powers. Ms. Marvel will explore the teenager’s superhero origin story and will introduce the MCU’s first Muslim superhero, another move in the right direction for greater diversity in the franchise. Ms. Marvel is also set to star Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur.

She-Hulk – 2022

She-Hulk is set to experiment with another new format in the MCU akin to the way WandaVision riffed on iconic sitcoms of the past. Tatiana Maslany will play Jennifer Walters, cousin to Bruce Banner and legal wunderkind. The series is said to be part legal procedural, and an early look at She-Hulk showed Walters breaking the fourth wall, another interesting wrinkle that could allow for all types of experimentation. Jameela Jamil is slated to also star as villain Titania, while Mark Ruffalo will be back as Hulk after last appearing in Avengers: Endgame, and Tim Roth as Abomination.

Moon Knight – 2022

Arguably one of Marvel’s most exciting upcoming series, Moon Knight will introduce Oscar Isaac’s Marc Spector. Imbued with powers by the Egyptian Moon God Khonshu, Moon Knight is a vigilante that is sometimes compared to Batman and the show is expected to take the MCU into dark new directions. With Ethan Hawke set to play Moon Knight’s villain, the series will see two of the most esteemed actors working today go head-to-head in a brooding psychological superhero thriller.

Secret Invasion – 2022

Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will finally get his due in Secret Invasion, an MCU Disney+ show that will adapt the iconic comic book arc of the same name. Set up by post-credits scenes in both Spider-Man: Far From Home and WandaVision, Secret Invasion sees Skrulls impersonating some of Marvel’s biggest heroes. Secret Invasion boasts a few more Hollywood heavyweights, with Ben Mendelsohn and Cobie Smulders returning as Talos and Maria Hill, respectively, and Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke cast in undisclosed roles.

Werewolf By Night – Marvel Halloween Special – 2022

Gael Garcia Bernal is set to star in Marvel’s first Halloween special which is set to begin filming in early 2022. Sources have said that he could be playing Werewolf by Night, although this is unconfirmed. With filming beginning in early 2022, it’s possible the Halloween special could premiere in time for Halloween 2022. With Moon Knight also potentially getting into the supernatural side of the MCU, it’s possible the two could even connect.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special – Late 2022

After becoming one of the most unlikely gangs in the MCU, James Gunn’s gaggle of misfits will return after their appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder for a holiday extravaganza. Led by Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, the Guardians’ Holiday Special will be a one-off, 40-minute special. Plot details aren’t known, but Gunn has teased the introduction of “one of the greatest MCU characters of all time” in the special.

I Am Groot

Vin Diesel’s standout Guardians character will get his own series of special shorts, presumably after the holiday episode. Diesel is likely returning as the character, which has provided many of the funniest moments for the team of Galaxy defenders. I Am Groot is expected to be a kid-friendly adventure, but little else is known about the episodes.

Marvel’s What If…? Season 2

With scripts already in the can for Marvel’s What If…? season 2, the MCU’s first animated experiment will make a grand return sooner rather than later. The first season introduced fan-favorite Captain Carter, voiced by Peggy Carter actress Hayley Atwell. What If…? season 2 could potentially bring together even more of the alternate universe plot introduced in the show’s first season.

Armor Wars

With Tony Stark out of the picture, Don Cheadle’s War Machine will take his place in this adaptation of the Armor Wars comic arc. The arc in question saw Iron Mango after heroes and villains who had stolen designs for his technology. With the added weight of Iron Man’s legacy looming large over the MCU, the Armor Wars show will have the added pressure of continuing the billionaire’s story in what is sure to be an emotional and action-packed adventure.

Ironheart

Another show that will tackle the legacy of Tony Stark, Ironheart will follow Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams, a genius in her own right. Ironheart is set to be introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and the groundwork for her show will presumably be established in that movie. With Wakanda Forever premiering in November 2022, it seems like Ironheart could premiere in early 2023.

Loki Season 2

All 18 Marvel Shows Releasing After SpiderMan No Way Home (& When)

Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief isn’t done with the MCU quite yet. Although it is unclear when it will premiere, Loki season 2 will likely have a major impact on the franchise as a whole. After toying with the multiverse in its first season, Loki introduced Kang the Conqueror, known as He Who Remains in the show, before setting loose a myriad of Kang variants across the multiverse. With Loki season 1 ending on a huge cliffhanger, it seems likely that season 2 will pick up with Hiddleston’s character as he navigates a brand new world, one that doesn’t know he even exists.

Wakanda Spinoff

All 18 Marvel Shows Releasing After SpiderMan No Way Home (& When)

2018’s Black Panther was the best look yet at the intricacies of the formerly hidden African nation Wakanda. While audiences have gotten glimpses of it in Avengers: Infinity War, the Wakanda show will be the perfect opportunity for Ryan Coogler, who will reportedly oversee the show, to dive deep into the homeland of T’Challa. Filming for the Wakanda spinoff will presumably take place after Wakanda Forever, so a late 2023 or early 2024 premiere seems likely.

Okoye Spinoff

All 18 Marvel Shows Releasing After SpiderMan No Way Home (& When)

Danai Gurira’s standout Black Panther Dora Milaje will be getting her own spinoff. Little is known about the show, including who else could star in it or when it could film. It’s possible Marvel could film it simultaneously with the Wakanda spinoff, making a 2024 premiere possible.

Echo

All 18 Marvel Shows Releasing After SpiderMan No Way Home (& When)

After making her debut in Hawkeye, Alaqua Cox is set to return as Maya Lopez, a.k.a. Echo, in Echo. With Hawkeye also bringing Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin into the mix and his relationship to Echo made apparent, it’s presumed that her spinoff series will focus on him and the ground-level crimefighting highlighted in the Clint Barton series. Other details about the Echo spinoff have not been revealed but depending on where her character lands at the end of Hawkeye, the first hints of her future could be made apparent.

Agatha: House of Harkness

All 18 Marvel Shows Releasing After SpiderMan No Way Home (& When)

Building on another of their Disney+ series, the inimitable Kathryn Hahn, who made her debut as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, will be getting her own MCU show. Marvel confirmed the series’ development on Disney+ Day 2021 after it was previously reported as being in the works. House of Harkness hails from WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer and while Agatha was left trapped in Westview at the end of the Elizabeth Olsen led series, it seems like the upcoming spinoff could focus on Agatha throughout her life.

X-Men ’97

All 18 Marvel Shows Releasing After SpiderMan No Way Home (& When)

Another Disney+ Day announcement, X-Men ’97 will be the first non-MCU Disney+ Marvel show. Serving as a reboot of the iconic X-Men: The Animated Series, the new show will come to Disney+ in 2023 and will continue the story of the original. While story details are slim save for what can be gleaned from the ending of the original show, it’s possible that the show could adapt some iconic X-Men comic book stories. Marvel’s What If…? will not be the studio’s last foray into animation, as it’s the medium of the three upcoming shows they have on their slate.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year

All 18 Marvel Shows Releasing After SpiderMan No Way Home (& When)

After Tom Holland joined the MCU as a full-fledged Spider-Man, many fans were left wondering how his origin story could differ from the previous live-action iterations of the character. Now, audiences are set to get their answer. Spider-Man: Freshman Year will explore the early years of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, predating his debut in Captain America: Civil War. It’s unclear if Holland will lend his voice to the role or if Marvel’s What If…? Spider-Man actor Hudson Thames will reprise his role here.

Marvel Zombies

Marvel’s What If…?’s Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells are developing Marvel Zombies and while it is unclear if the show is directly connected to the episode of MCU’s first animated series that introduced the concept, it seems like a safe bet. Seeing as What If…?’s zombie episode was one of its most popular, it would be smart to spin it off into its own series, especially after the reveal that Marvel standouts like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Ant-Man were searching for a cure and a zombie version of Thanos had taken over T’Challa’s home country. Even after the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel clearly has no plans to slow down.
