The second half of Pokémon Sword and Shield’s DLC expansion pass, The Crown Tundra, is bringing back an additional set of old Pokémon from past generations. This includes a huge swath of Legendaries, but also a number of other fan-favorite Pokémon designs.
The return of Pokémon originally missing from Sword and Shield is a sort of partial undoing of Game Freak’s infamous “Dexit” decision. The developer initially included only about half the number of total Pokémon in Sword and Shield, even cutting off the ability to transfer some old creatures forward for the first time. The choice was met with much uproar from longtime fans before the games’ release, but the expansion pass’ 200 returning creatures somewhat alleviate the issue.
As with the Isle of Armor DLC, Pokémon reintroduced in The Crown Tundra will be both catchable in the titular new area and transferrable via the Pokémon Home application. Below is a list of all Pokémon confirmed for the DLC so far, according to Pokémon fan site Serebii, as many have appeared in trailers and promotional material prior to The Crown Tundra’s release.

While not officially confirmed, a datamine back in June may have discovered the remaining additions to Pokémon Sword and Shield’s roster. Bulbapedia contributor abcboy shared a datamined list of Pokémon for which Game Freak deleted the Pokédex entries, “rather than leaving them blank like the Pokémon that weren’t intended to come back.” The list includes Pokémon like Kabutops, Mudkip, and Blaziken, which are likely to join the above list when the DLC launches.
In addition to returning creatures, The Crown Tundra will also add a few brand new Pokémon. These include at least three new Legendaries – the rabbit-like Calyrex and two new “Regis” – as well as Galarian forms of old Pokémon. Slowking’s Galarian form gives it a Poison typing and spooky new appearance, and Galarian forms of Gen 1’s Legendary bird trio give them alternate types and majestic new appearances.
