Evans Peters has been with American Horror Story since the first season. After playing the lovesick, troubled ghost Tate Langdon in Murder House, Peters went on to play both villains and heroes in each subsequent season – with the exception of 1984. No matter who Peters plays in the horror anthology series, he always brings an emotional rawness and charming allure along with him.

10 Tate Langdon Sires The Antichrist

Tate Langdon is one of many ghosts who resides in season one’s titular murder house. A teen who committed a mass shooting at his high school before being taken out by police, Tate falls for teenaged Violet Harmon, but this doesn’t keep Tate from assaulting her mother Vivien while donning a latex BDSM suit.

Tate’s forced copulation with Vivien sires a child, but not any ordinary child. Tate and Vivien are the parents of Michael Langdon, the future Antichrist.

9 Kit Walker Is Mistaken For Bloody Face

In Asylum, Peters plays Kit Walker, a man thought to be the serial killer Bloody Face. Kit maintains his innocence from the beginning, and it doesn’t take viewers long to discover the true identity of the murderer: Zachary Quinto’s character Dr. Oliver Thredson.

Kit eventually earns his freedom, but not before undergoing severe physical and psychological torture. His character arc gets very strange when it’s revealed Kit was abducted by aliens.

8 Kyle Spencer Is Brought Back To Life

Peters reunites with Taissa Farmiga in Coven, who plays his romantic interest Violet in Murder House. For the third season, Peters plays a college frat boy whose buds assault Madison Montgomery – a witch played by Emma Roberts.

Farmiga’s character Zoe is also a witch, and she falls for Peters’s character Kyle Spencer before he and his frat brothers are blown to bits by Madison as an act of revenge. Madison surprises Zoe after the fact by bringing Kyle back from the dead a la Victor Frankenstein. How romantic.

7 Jimmy Darling Loses His Hands

In Freak Show, Peters plays the kind and affable Jimmy Darling, the Lobster Boy. A member of Elsa Mars’s gang, Darling is framed for a mass murdered committed by the psychopathic Dandy Mott.

Taken advantage of left and right, Jimmy is tricked by a con artist named Stanley, who promises to help Jimmy find a lawyer. Instead, Stanley cuts off Jimmy’s hands and sells them to the Museum of Morbid Curiosities in a shocking, dramatic scene.

6 James Patrick March Hosts Devil’s Night

The deranged architect of the Cortez Hotel, Jimmy March is responsible for much of the mayhem that occurs in American Horror Story’s fifth season. This serial killer’s ghost haunts the hotel’s corridors, and his bloodlust is even stronger in death.

March’s insanity reaches its peak on Devil’s Night, a yearly dinner party he hosts at the hotel. Legions of dead serial killers mentored by March convene over drinks and talks of their exploits.

5 The Jane Sisters Kill Rory Monahan

Peters’s character in Roanoke, the actor Rory Monahan, plays Edward Phillipe Mott in the My Roanoke Nightmare haunted house docuseries at the heart of this meta season of American Horror Story. Along with his wife, fellow actor Audrey Tindall, Monahan returns for the reunion series Return to Roanoke.

The spirits in the home aren’t done with terrorizing people yet, and Rory is attacked by the spirits of the murderous nurses known as the Jane sisters. Not only do they brutally murder Rory; they put his body on display for everyone else to see.

4 Kai Anderson Starts A Cult

Peters’s darkest character, by far, is Cult’s Kai Anderson. The blue-haired young man harnesses the pain and fear in those around him, capitalizing on the 2016 US presidential election to start his own cult.

As his following grows, Anderson makes moves to win local political seats, aspiring to make it to the White House one day. Anderson becomes more misogynistic, violent, and unhinged as the season progresses.

3 Kai Becomes Charles Manson

Cult includes flashbacks to infamous cult-related killings, including the Manson murders. Peters dons a wig and an unhinged look to portray Charles Manson, who appears to Kai Anderson in the form of a hallucination.

These visions cause Anderson to become even more deluded than before. Fortunately, Anderson is outwitted by Sarah Paulson’s character Ally Mayfair-Richards before he can cause damage on a widespread scale.

2 Malcolm Gallant Meets The Rubber Man

In Apocalypse, Peters plays a hairdresser who is lucky enough to be working on the wealthy Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt when the world comes to an end. He’s able to catch a ride on her personal jet to a post-apocalyptic outpost.

Once in Outpost 3, Mr. Gallant is seduced by a man in the same rubber suit worn by Tate Langdon in Murder House. The man turns out to be Michael Langdon, the Antichrist, who is Tate’s son.

1 Jeff Pfister Makes A Satanic Android

Peters also plays a scientist hired by Michael Langdon to make an android of his beloved sidekick, Satanist Miriam Mead. What’s even more memorable than Jeff Pfister’s robot-building skills is his ridiculous haircut.

A tech bro through and through, Pfister and his sidekick Mutt are asked by Michael to pick the survivors who get to live in each outpost set up for the apocalypse. Talk about an interesting day job.
