American Horror Story Season 10: Death Valley Cast & Character Guide
Following AHS season 10’s first part, Red Tide, part 2’s Death Valley features a group of new and returning actors to tackle the characters.

American Horror Story season 10’s Death Valley, follows up the first half of the season’s Red Tide premise, introducing a new alien conflict with plenty of incredible new and returning AHS cast members portraying the characters. Death Valley follows a 1950s black and white timeline in which president Dwight Eisenhower is confronted with the arrival of aliens and subsequently tests on the species. The season also depicts a group of modern-day college students who face the decade-old conspiracies and horrors face-on.
Death Valley follows American Horror Story season 10’s first part, Red Tide, where the former takes place on the sand while the latter occurred at the sea. AHS: Red Tide depicted the story of Harry Gardner, a struggling screenwriter who moved with his pregnant wife and talented violinist daughter to Provincetown, Cape Cod for the winter. The family quickly realizes the town’s menacing nature involving a black pill that gives talented users intense inspiration while turning untalented takers into dreaded Pale People. For anyone who takes The Chemists black pill, a dreaded side effect gives one an aggressive thirst for blood.
The cast of American Horror Story: Double Feature part 2 features several of the main cast members continuing in the season from Red Tide. Additionally, other notable names from past installations of American Horror Story will make appearances while several actors who made their AHS debuts in the spin-off series American Horror Stories will join the Death Valley cast in larger roles. Death Valley also includes the introduction into the American Horror Story family for a few remarkable actors as they bring the governmental interactions with aliens to life.
Sarah Paulson As Mamie Eisenhower
First Lady of the United States Mamie Eisenhower is portrayed by Emmy-winning American Horror Story veteran Sarah Paulson. Mamie is the wife of President Dwight D. Eisenhower who is pulled into the ‘50s-era alien madness when her husband has to investigate a UFO crash and deal with the beings that arrived on it. Paulson was also featured in American Horror Story season 10’s Red Tide, having portrayed the maltreated TB Karen who refused to take the black pill. Known for her collaborations with Ryan Murphy, Paulson has starred in 9 out of American Horror Story’s 10 seasons, played the titular role in Netflix’s Ratched, and played lead roles in American Crime Story’s Impeachment and O.J. seasons.
Neal McDonough As Dwight D. Eisenhower
Famed television actor Neal McDonough portrays Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th president of the United States. Eisenhower is confronted with a catastrophe when an alien aircraft crash lands in the desert, leaving missing pilot Amelia Earhart and American Horror Story’s alien creatures in its wake. Eisenhower now has to work to figure out what happened with the aliens, what they really are, and why they’re here. McDonough is best known for his work as Lt. Lynn “Buck” Compton in HBO’s Band of Brothers, David McNorris in Boomtown, and his recurring role as Dum Dum Dugan in various Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. Death Valley is McDonough’s debut in the American Horror Story universe.
Kaia Gerber As Kendall Carr
Portrayed by the Kaia Gerber, the daughter of model Cindy Crawford, Kendall Carr is a pre-med student at Harvard University who is reuniting with her best friends for a summer camping trip. Kendall is in a relationship with another member of the no technology club at Harvard, and their lifestyle dictates no use of modern technology, so she can’t use computers or cell phones. Gerber is best known for having starred as sociopathic killer Ruby in American Horror Stories’ episodes centered on Murder House.
Nico Greetham As Cal Cambon
Cal is a student at Princeton University in the present day who is apparently interested in “world domination” and is quite pretentious about his alcohol selections. He’s in a relationship with Troy and brags about his worldliness by having spent a term in Japan. Greetham notably played Zinn, an arrogant influencer and vlogger, in American Horror Stories’ “The Naughty List” episode as well as Nick in Netflix’s The Prom.
Rebecca Dayan As Maria Wycoff
Played by French actress Rebecca Dayan, Maria Wycoff is the woman who was abducted and changed into an alien host that leads the effort for President Eisenhower to work with the extraterrestrials. Her son was abducted and seemingly possessed by the aliens directly before Marie, where they now work with the beings on Earth. Dayan is best known for playing Elsa in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series Halston, Sister Emanuel in Novitiate, and Sarah in Tesla. Death Valley is Dayan’s official introduction into the American Horror Story family.
Lily Rabe As Amelia Earhart
Renowned American Horror Story actress Lily Rabe plays famed missing pilot Amelia Earhart in Death Valley. In the American Horror Story universe, Earhart was abducted by the aliens who have now crashed on Earth, having been injected and tested on by the alien species since the time she went missing. Rabe was previously featured in American Horror Story season 10’s first part, Red Tide, as Doris Gardner, who was tragically turned into a vampiric Pale Person. Rabe has also played notable American Horror Story characters like Sister Mary Eunice in Asylum, witch Misty Day in Coven, and the real Shelby Miller in Roanoke.
Death Valley Supporting Cast & Characters:
Rachel Hilson as Jamie Howard: One of Kendall, Troy, and Cal’s best friends who is going through a difficult breakup. Hilson is best known for playing young Beth in This Is Us and Mia Brooks in Love, Victor.
Isaac Cole Powell as Troy Lord: Cal’s boyfriend and the best friend of Jamie and Kendall who hides his relationship from his Orthodox Jewish family. Powell is known for his Broadway career, having been featured in the revival cast of West Side Story. He also played Rhys in the divisive film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen.
Craig Sheffer as Richard Nixon: The Vice President to Dwight Eisenhower who later becomes the 37th president of the United States. Sheffer is known for playing Norman Maclean in A River Runs Through It, Aaron Boone in Nightbreed, and Keith Scott on One Tree Hill.
Alisha Soper as Marilyn Monroe: Famous actress and singer from the ‘50s and ‘60s who was long rumored to have had an affair with President John F. Kennedy. Soper previously played Marilyn Monroe for Ryan Murphy in 2017’s Feud: Bette and Joan and for the Lethal Weapon TV series the same year.
Samuel Hunt as Adam: Kendall’s American Horror Story boyfriend from Harvard who is a prominent member in its no modern technology club. Hunt’s prior acting credits include Xavier on Empire and Greg Gerwitz on Chicago P.D.
