A player of Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s Happy Home Paradise has recreated a Hot Topic store to perfection using the DLC’s plethora of design tools and items. The newly-released Animal Crossing DLC lets players create holiday homes for the game’s many villagers, and introduces lots of previously-unavailable decorations.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are exploring a host of newly-released content that came to the 2020 game earlier this November. Alongside the paid DLC, Nintendo also launched the free 2.0 update, which adds new gameplay features, characters, and quality-of-life improvements to the game. As revealed by a recent datamine, those who enjoy decorating and designing their islands have over 9,000 new items to collect and place, with players already discovering everything from new outfits and flooring to haunted Animal Crossing wallpaper.

Redditor lauraisbored, a former Hot Topic employee, created their impressive Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise version of the store to be “as chaotic as [they] remember,” filling their build with clothes, accessories, skateboards, and music albums. The store logo has been recreated for both the signage and floor detailing using custom designs, and there’s even a Hot Topic shopping bag sitting on the cash register. The impressive creation has amassed a lot of love on Reddit, with over 13,000 upvotes at the time of writing.

lauraisbored’s Animal Crossing creation has some incredible attention to detail, not just incorporating the dark colors of the store, but also the items it may stock. As well as spookier items such as the Jack’s Face pumpkin headgear, the user has a whole wall dedicated to Animal Crossing’s gothic looks, including boots, bags, and lots of black clothing. Eagle-eyed fans will also notice skateboards hanging on the wall, while the player has also taken the time to add changing room booths, a jewelry stand, and of course, lots of K.K Slider albums. Perhaps the only thing missing is a wall dedicated to Funko Pops.

Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s Happy Home Paradise DLC has been a resounding success with players so far, offering deeper customization and design options than the main game. While players can design their own homes using items they’ve collected without the DLC, Happy Home Paradise gives users access to a full catalog of relevant build items, with all different color variations available. Players don’t need to grind to find their perfect kitchenette or wallpaper, and with hundreds of villagers to build homes for, Animal Crossing’s Happy Home DLC offers lots of gameplay for designers.
