Avengers Hints Endgames Final Battle Could Have Been Way More Epic

Warning! Spoilers for Avengers Tech-On #2 by Marvel Comics below

In Avengers Tech-On #2, the Avengers are rendered powerless as the Red Skull uses the last remnants of the gems to strip the heroes of their abilities. However, Iron Man quickly figures out a way to tap into the remaining power of the Infinity Stones to give his allies armored upgrades. The comic shows another solution Tony Stark could have taken in Avengers: Endgame that would have given the heroes additional powers against Thanos, despite the destroyed Infinity Stones, and made the final battle even more epic.

In Avengers: Endgame, the blockbuster opens with the Avengers planning and executing an attack on Thanos after he snapped half of all existence from reality. But, when the superteam arrives at the planet Thanos has made his home, they soon discover the Mad Titan destroyed the Infinity Stones so no one else could use them. So, the Avengers would split up and band back together five years later to go on a quest through time to get the Infinity Stones back and undo the damage Thanos did. But, a new comic shows an entirely different strategy the heroes could have deployed.

In Tech-On Avengers #2 by Jim Zub, Jeff “Chamba” Cruz, and VC’s Travis Lanham, the Avengers are still reeling from losing their powers against the Red Skull, who harnessed the dust from the destroyed Infinity Stones to gain incredible powers. When the villain launches an attack against the armored heroes, he brags about having the last remnants of the Infinity Stones. But, Iron Man reveals he figured out how to reverse-engineer the Infinity Mirror Shards, and use the Infinity Stones dust to power up the armors each hero wore.

While the comic isn’t canon, it shows another way the Avengers could have fought back against Thanos. After the Mad Titan destroyed the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame, Tony could have located the remaining Infinity Mirror Shards and reverse-engineered them to give the heroes significant power upgrades. While it wouldn’t reverse the snap, the powers would surely make their mission much easier, as they’d have significantly more firepower. Plus, they would have been even stronger in the final battle against Thanos.

Seeing the Avengers use epic Iron Man armor with enhanced powers to take down Thanos would have been a lot of fun and made an already epic final battle even more impressive. But, interestingly, it’s also possible that the Infinity Mirror Shards are still out there somewhere – meaning the Avengers might not be done with the Infinity Stones after all, if Marvel ever wants to revisit the powerful gems.
