Bachelor In Paradise Brendan Apologizes After Losing IG Followers

After losing thousands of followers on Instagram, Bachelor in Paradise star Brendan Morais has apologized to fans. Brendan’s troubles began on the September 6 episode of BIP following Pieper James’ arrival in Paradise. Before Pieper’s arrival, there had been rumors about her and Brendan’s relationship. When she arrived and immediately asked him on a date and he accepted, it strengthened those rumors. However, after accepting a date with Pieper, Brendan spoke to Natasha Parker, with whom he was beginning to build a bond, and again denied any pre-show relationship between him and Pieper.

Happenings at Brendan and Pieper’s date showed there was indeed more between them. The rest of the BIP cast noticed their closeness afterward, leading Natasha to speak to them separately as she sought to figure out what was going on. During those conversations, she found out Brendan had been lying and subsequently felt he and Pieper had played her. After watching the episode, many fans were angry about Brendan and Pieper’s actions and began unfollowing them, with the former losing almost 100K at this time. The pair’s posts on Instagram following the episode’s airing did not help matters, as they seemed unremorseful. However, that has changed.

On Wednesday, Brendan took to his Instagram Story to post a note of apology to his fans. He said he had taken time to process the past few days’ events and realized he was wrong on many different levels. The 31-year-old revealed he had deleted the post he made after the episode aired, adding that he posted it before the episode and was unaware of the magnitude of hurt he caused. He also said, “My approach to many things in life is sarcasm. In this instance with regard to my post, I was completely insensitive. Most importantly I apologize to you Natasha. I hurt you. I am deeply sorry for doing so. I understand that the damage is already done and all I can do going forward is acknowledge the error of my ways.”

Brendan apologized to those who felt his actions triggered certain feelings and emotions and said he is truly sorry for causing such pain. In the latter part of his apology, he did his best to shield Pieper from attacks and took full responsibility for his actions. Brendan stressed they had misunderstandings before heading into Paradise and added, “If you feel the need to express disdain for the situation, please do so at my expense. I am completely at fault. He concluded by promising to release a full statement soon.

Brendan’s statement of apology has generated multiple and diverse reactions from fans. On one hand, the apology seems to be an effort from him to salvage the situation and stop more BIP fans from unfollowing him. It’s hard to see him as being truly sorry for his actions, given that he did not apologize immediately after the episode aired but waited for two days before doing so. On the other hand, his apology may just be real and true. He may have delayed apologizing because he was unsure of the best step to take and wanted to do things the right way. Whatever the case is, he has shown courage by taking full responsibility for his actions and saying sorry. Bachelor in Paradise fans will now be waiting for the full statement he promised to release. Fingers crossed!
