The deadly Black Widow began her Marvel Comics career as a Russian assassin and she showed up as one of Iron Man’s villain. However, she wanted out and defected to America to work with the U.S. government and S.H.I.E.L.D., where she remained one of the world’s deadliest spies.
Thanks to her job, Black Widow built up a deadly list of enemies, from assassins and spies to people from her past still holding grudges. These enemies have a habit of killing people, so no one Black Widow cares about is safe, making her most dangerous enemies more than just supervillains to defeat.
10 Elektra
Black Widow holds the status of Marvel’s deadliest spy. However, there is one other character who rivals her concerning her skill as an assassin. While Elektra is an antihero, her rivalry with Black Widow remains strong.
Black Widow has proved to be the better fighter, a more skilled hand-to-hand combatant, but Elektra never gives up. With both mostly being heroes, they’re really rivals and not people with an intense hatred between them.
9 Bullseye
Black Widow is a master assassin, and she has a long-time enemy who is even better than she is in Bullseye. The big difference between them is that Bullseye never misses, and when he does, it was never his fault. With Black Widow and Daredevil as former lovers, it made sense that she would end up enemies with his greatest foe, Bullseye, as well.
Bullseye beat Black Widow in one of their earliest fights, using her as bait for Daredevil, and he always proved a dangerous enemy for her every time they met since. However, Bullseye mostly used Black Widow as bait, making their rivalry less personal than those who come after Natasha personally.
8 Snapdragon
Snapdragon is a Black Widow villain above all else. She worked as an assassin for Damon Dran, a criminal overlord who has sent several people after Black Widow before deciding to target her himself.
Snapdragon is a skilled fighter and weapons expert who wears reinforced armor most of the time to remain safe while on missions. Snapdragon beat Black Widow the first time they fought, but since then, Widow always comes out on top against this enemy, making her an annoyance but not as dangerous as someone like Crossbones.
7 Crossbones
Crossbones was a minor villain in the MCU, but before he became a villain, he worked as an ally for Black Widow and Captain America as part of S.H.I.E.L.D. However, he was loyal to Hydra and tried to kill both of them before suffering injuries that led to him taking on the mask of Crossbones.
In the comics, he is a Captain America enemy who often targets his allies, including Black Widow. The two have fought many times in his long-running attempts to topple Captain America, but it was never as personal as someone like Damon Dran or Taskmaster.
6 Indestructible Man
Damon Dran has tried to kill Black Widow several times by sending hired assassins after her. However, every time he sent someone, they failed, and Dran decided he needed to do something about it himself. He underwent an experiment to give himself powers and became Indestructible Man.
Believing he could achieve his goal of killing Black Widow, he went after her and had the size and strength advantage, but he still never reached his goals of shutting the spy down. He sent more people to kill Black Widow than anyone, making him a true threat.
5 Red Guardian
Red Guardian had a strong past relationship with Black Widow. This differs from the one he had with her in the movie, where he appeared as a father figure.
In the comics, Red Guardian was Black Widow’s husband, and he loved her so much he sacrificed his life to save her. However, he didn’t die and became a villain, even using Hawkeye’s old Ronin identity, as he made Black Widow’s life hell. The two remain enemies in the comics, although with a level of respect under the surface, making him a tough enemy to face thanks to their connection.
4 Taskmaster
Taskmaster showed up in the 2021 Black Widow movie, but not as the comic character. In the comics, Taskmaster is Tony Masters, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who became a mercenary and assassin. His power is the ability to replicate anyone’s fighting skills by just watching them.
He ran afoul of Black Widow several times in Marvel Comics. He trained fighters out of his own school, but also worked at training recruits in the Red Room. In 2021, the two had a fierce battle when Black Widow believed Taskmaster had killed Maria Hill. Her intense hatred of him makes him a bigger villain than other assassins.
3 Madame Hydra
Black Widow was first-and-foremost a spy and that put her at odds with rival spy organizations. Widow worked for S.H.I.E.L.D., making her an agent who had to deal with Hydra, and that put her on the radar of one of Hydra’s most ambitious agents, a woman known as Madame Hydra and Viper.
The two women battled for years in the comics as fierce enemies, neither willing to back down or relent. This is a rivalry that stretches throughout the years, and Madame Hydra is Black Widow’s greatest enemy without a tie to her Russian past.
2 Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden has a strong past relationship with Black Widow that makes their rivalry more personal than all but one villain Natasha has battled.
Iron Maiden is Melina Vostokoff, another former Russian spy who defected. However, Black Widow became a hero and Iron Maiden ended up forgotten, making her hate Natasha. Out of all the assassins that Damon Dran sent after Black Widow, Iron Maiden was the deadliest and gave Widow the most problems, making her a bigger threat as an enemy than most others. Melina appears in the 2021 Black Widow movie but with a different backstory.
1 Ivan Petrovich
Ivan Petrovich was someone who was very close to Black Widow and later became her most dangerous enemy, making him her biggest enemy emotionally. He was the man who took her in, protecting her as a young child.
He then enlisted her into the Red Room program to help her become a great spy. However, in the comics, she rejected their relationship and they parted ways. He returned as a cyborg, wanting to take over the world. Black Widow had to take down the man who raised her.
