Bling Empire Why Cherie Chan & Jessey Lee Might Not Return for Season 2

Netflix’s most phenomenal smash-hit reality series of the year is Bling Empire. While most of the cast already had brushes with stardom, they are reaching new levels of fame (especially Anna Shay, the elusive Beverly Hills heiress.) Anna, who wasn’t even on social media, is now a fan favorite. While Netflix has yet to greenlight the series for a second season, it is certainly likely that the popular show will be renewed, and rumors in that vein are swirling. Some cast members, including so-called villain Christine Chiu, have hinted in interviews that they already know what their Bling Empire season two storylines will be. Others, such as Cherie Chan, aren’t sure they want to return.

Cherie Chan began Bling Empire season one extremely pregnant with her second child with boyfriend Jessey Lee. At the same time, she was struggling to accept her mother’s recent death. Already a mother to daughter Jadore, Cherie is a person who really values motherhood, as fans of the show could see when they got to know her. Prior to settling down with Jessey, Cherie was on track to becoming a sensational pop star. However, her mom didn’t want her daughter living that lifestyle, so Cherie gave it all up to have a quiet family life.

Of course, being the stars of a reality series doesn’t exactly equal a quiet life…just ask the dramatic couple Andrew Gray and Kelly Mi Li. Cherie and Jessey, who have yet to wed, went from being very rich owners of textile, furniture, and tequila companies (and raising their daughter) to worldwide fame, virtually overnight. The thing is, Cherie and Jessey aren’t sure they want that life. Cherie explains, “It’s tough. As a mom I’m really worried about the kids. It’s stressful being a mom. It’s great, but it comes with a lot of mom wanting to protect her child.” She wants the best for her children, and who can argue with that?

Aside from her personal feelings about the sudden fame, Cherie is aware that her new fans want to know how things turn out in her life. Cherie’s storyline left viewers in tears… and wanting more at the end of season one. Tired of waiting for the timing to be just right for Jessey to propose to her, Cherie took the proverbial bull by the horns and proposed to him the night of their son Jevon’s 100 Day Party. Jessey said yes. Though Cherie says, “I can’t believe I have fans now,” she understands that those fans, “definitely want to see us back, they want to see how our relationship is going to play out, how the wedding might happen.”

While being reality TV stars with all kinds of fans (and maybe stans) might be weird for the Lee-Chan family, here’s hoping they decide to join up for season two. Fans want to see their nuptials.
