One lucky Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild player was able to find two Star Fragments at a single drop site. Skilled fans have been uncovering a variety of neat tricks while playing the latest installment of Nintendo’s long-running dungeon-crawling RPG franchise, from using Link’s trusty new Master Cycle as a makeshift jetski to obtaining the usually hard-to-get Master Sword by simply setting up a campfire for the night.

In Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, Star Fragments are among the rarest materials Link can come across on his journey to save the kingdom of Hyrule from the threat of Calamity Gannon. These star-shaped crystals fall from the sky at night, singling their location with a glowing yellow beam. They vanish without a trace at sunrise, making Star Fragments incredibly valuable in Hyrule. Link can sell them for a whooping 300 Rupees per fragment, and can even use them while crafting certain BotW armor and weapons to unlock special bonuses.

Last week, Reddit user 8kyleross9 posted a clip of an extremely lucky chance encounter. It starts with Link riding to the site of a Star Fragment landing on his Master Cycle during a session of Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, but by the time the legendary hero arrives at the spot to claim the rare crystal, he finds two. 8kyleross9 notes that they’ve poured over 1,100 hours into Breath Of The Wild on the Nintendo Switch, but this is the first time they’ve discovered a double cache of Star Fragments. Other players in the comment section have pointed out how rare this is, revealing that they’ve only been able to find one Star Fragment at a time even after playing for twice as long as 8kyleross9.

Though many Breath Of The Wild players have uncovered clever exploits for solving a difficult puzzle or acquiring an extremely rare item, there are quite a few instances of players getting lucky and coming across a seemingly random glitch or rare event in the open world of Hyrule. One Breath Of The Wild player was able to complete a Major Test Of Strength Shrine challenge when a hulking Guardian was suddenly unable to hurt Link. Another gained an unexpected sidekick when the Goron Champion Yunobo decided to follow Link around on his journey. The developers behind Breath Of The Wild have even gone on record saying that they intentionally left some of BOTW’s most noteworthy glitches intact because of how fun they make the overall experience of the latest Legend Of Zelda adventure.

It isn’t clear if 8kyleross9’s chance discovery of two Star Fragments in Breath Of The Wild is yet another one of these glitches or an incredibly rare but intentional in-game occurrence, but it is a lucky find all the same. After all, now Link could be looking at either 600 Rupees or some nice armor upgrades for his next big quest.
