Newly released footage of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity confirms the return of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s paragliding and Wild Korok hunts. The footage, released yesterday by Nintendo, is the latest tease from the gaming company for their next entry into The Legend of Zelda series. Serving as a prequal to 2017’s Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set to be even bigger than its predecessor with a Dynasty Warriors flare.

Fans of the Zelda series have been receiving a slow but steady stream of new Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity news since its announcement in September. After the original announcement trailer, Nintendo debuted a second trailer at the Tokyo Game Show, highlighting the incredible fighting prowess of the newly playable Champions of Hyrule and Princess Zelda. It was here too that the announcement of a young and lethal Impa took place – a revelation that sent the internet into a frenzy. Other characters confirmed to returning from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the prequel include Robbi, Purah and the formidable Yiga Clan.

In the latest Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity trailer from Nintendo, gameplay is once again highlighted for the several playable characters. However, more surprisingly for the hack and slash game, the return of the hidden Koroks has been revealed. Found around the game world in a manner similar to their inclusion in Breath of the Wild, Koroks will hide in wooden crates and the extensive flora found around Hyrule. And what are Koroks without the maraca-wielding Hestu, who shows off his trademark dance moves to Link and Zelda in the woods.

Another bolt from the blue however is the return of paragliders, and it’s not just Link that boldly launches himself from daring heights with nothing but a cloth to keep him sailing through the air. In the trailer, Link confidently jumps from atop a tower, followed swiftly by Impa, Revali, and Daruk, the lattermost of which seems to defy the laws of gravity with what must be the sturdiest wood-and-canvas construction imaginable to support his boulder-like frame.

With only a month to go before the release of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity on the Nintendo Switch, these “Untold Chronicles” trailers continue to heighten fans’ anticipation. Focusing more on story than Nintendo’s previous hack and slash Zelda spin-off and tapping into the unanswered questions raised by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity looks set to be a strong entry into The Legend of Zelda’s canon.
