DCEU 10 Reasons The Flash and Wonder Woman Werent Real Friends

Since making her first appearance in comics, Wonder Woman has been the most popular and influential female character in all of pop culture. With her warrior mentality and her immense powers, she has made a fan base and has proved a worthy adversary in the DC universe, being one of the founders of the Justice League and one-third of the “Big Three”.

The Flash, although one of the most popular comic characters in history, is nowhere near as influential as Wonder Woman, and the two are rarely seen on adventures together nor do they ever really share a history. Their relationship (or lack thereof) carries unto the DCEU, so we made a list as to why we think they’re not really friends.

10 They Rarely Spend Any Screentime Together

One of the glaring things we notice in the movie is how little screen time is shared between the Flash and Wonder Woman. Even when they are onscreen together, it’s usually during a battle or with another character in between them.

For two of the most important DC characters and founders of the Justice League, you’d think they should at least have a couple of conversations.

9 Lack Of Chemistry

Lack of screentime means a lack of getting to know each other, a missed opportunity of building rapport. Sure, it was Batman that was in charge of recruiting but if they’re going to go out in battle, they should at least get to know each other a little better to build some sort of chemistry.

That would’ve made Barry accidentally falling on her less awkward and it could’ve led to an overall better and stronger team as a whole.

8 She Has A Hard Time Trusting Him

Wonder Woman has been a warrior for centuries, she knows a fighter when she sees one. When she first met Barry, she knew he wasn’t cut out for the superhero gig just yet and had a tough time trusting him and helping him realize his potential.

Given they didn’t always have time to do any team bonding but they could’ve at least sat down to talk or something, maybe gotten a better understanding of each other.

7 They’ve Never Really Been Close, Not Even In The Comics

The Flash and Wonder Woman have never really been close, even the comics, at least for Barry. Wally West (the 3rd Flash) had his own adventures and chemistry with Diana but Barry has always seen her as a colleague or coworker rather than a close friend.

This could be for a number of things, including their personalities, powers, and overall dynamic that we will address later on but it seems like there lack relationship has carried on into the movies.

6 She Helps Bruce Spy On Him

Part of the reason the team came together to fight was due to Bruce and Diana coming together to steal info and spy on the super-powered metas that Lex Luthor had an eye on.

For Barry, it was revealed he was a squatter, someone who was always on the run, meaning he didn’t want to be found for whatever reason. With them tracking him down, it could’ve led to others trying to find him and possibly doing harm.

5 They Have A Different Approach To Crime-Fighting

One of the more glaring differences these two have that could be a subject of debate for them is their approach to crime-fighting. Diana is a warrior, built for war and taking down those who oppress humanity with strength and ruthlessness.

Barry is almost the complete opposite. He’s more of a smalltime crime fighter, only really staying in Central City, stopping crime there. His approach is running and pushing, never any physical altercations.

4 Completely Different Characters

Apart from their different approaches to heroism, they are completely different characters. Barry is upbeat, optimistic, and a bit of a goofball. Diana is serious and always about getting down to business.

It’s easy to assume that her no-nonsense approach and lack of social skills due to being on an isolated island might lead to her being confused or annoyed by Barry’s personality.

3 Barry’s Humor

Like we just mentioned, Barry is a bit of a goofball. As the youngest member of the League, he’s always joking and making rookie mistakes due to his lack of experience. But his sarcasm and charm helped make him a standout in the movie.

Diana is not really known for her humor or her ability to be relaxed, she’s more serious and closer to Batman with her professionalism.

2 Age Difference

Although Diana looks like shes in her late 20s, she’s actually over a hundred years old. Like we saw in her solo movie and in Justice League, she has been around for a long time and has seen a lot in her time.

Barry, on the other hand, is actually in his 20s, making him an expert in new age ideas, jokes, and the environment. Similar to Captain America needing others to help him keep up with the times, Diana might need some help understanding Barry.

1 Power Set

When it comes to powerful superheroes, Diana is second to only Superman. She has her super strength, agility, flying, and tactical knowledge that make her a force to be reckoned with.

Barry is the fastest man alive. He’s got the powers of super speed, agility, and the ability to travel through dimensions and time. They both have a different approach to their skills and although the league is made up of different heroes with all sorts of different powers, Wonder Woman is a fighter for nuclear level threats and Barry is more a street-level hero.
