Deadpool Reveals His Actual Tragic Marvel Superpower

Warning! Spoilers for Deadpool: Infinity Comic #4 on Marvel Unlimited

In a new issue of his Marvel Unlimited series, Deadpool just revealed his most tragic superpower. After taking a massive punch to the head from Ben Grimm, Deadpool tells Sue Storm that after taking serious blows from some of Marvel’s heaviest hitters, his brain recovers much slower than his body. In turn, sometimes people are mad at him for stuff he can’t remember. However, the Merc with a Mouth says being rebooted is his actual superpower.

Deadpool has some of the most impressive powers in Marvel Comics. Thanks to being experimented on by Weapon X, Wade Wilson has an accelerated healing factor that means he can recover from the most gruesome wounds. The antihero also has fourth-wall-breaking abilities that give him comic awareness, as he’s very aware he’s in a comic book and often makes silly references to both readers and his fellow Marvel heroes and villains. Deadpool has become seemingly immortal in certain stories, as he’s practically unkillable. However, Marvel just did a deeper dive into one of the character’s most tragic powers.

In Deadpool: Infinity Comic #4 by Gerry Duggan, Lucas Werneck, Geoffo, Rachelle Rosenberg, Joe Sabino, Tim Smith, and Annie Cheng, Ben Grimm discovers Deadpool inside Sue Storm’s bedroom, which angers the hero. The Thing accuses Deadpool of peeping in on Sue and knocks him to the ground with a mammoth punch to the face. Sue arrives and tells Ben she’s working on a case with Deadpool, but the damage is done. Sue tries to apologize for the incident in an ensuing conversation, but Deadpool reveals that it’s no biggie. He tells the Fantastic Four hero that since his opponents know he can’t die, they hurt him even more.

Deadpool Reveals His Actual Tragic Marvel Superpower

Deadpool tragically reveals that when he runs into “guys like The Thing,” his brain ends up healing a little slower than his body. He says people get mad at him for stuff he can’t remember cause it got “knocked out” of his head. Deadpool says being rebooted is his actual superpower. It’s a sad realization by the antihero.

It’s quite the tragic admission by Deadpool. When he goes up against stronger opponents, they try to hurt him even more than anyone else since he can’t be killed. However, the blows still impact Deadpool – as he can’t remember things, causing people to get mad at him. He has no control over what he remembers after taking such powerful hits to the head, and everyone laughs it off because of who he is. It’s why Deadpool tragically believes being rebooted is his actual superpower.
