Death Stranding Drops to its Lowest Price Ever

One can say without a doubt that Death Stranding by Kojima Productions was one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2019.

Earlier this month, several retailers dropped the price of Death Stranding to $44.99, and today Death Stranding gets another price reduction, dropping its price to its lowest ever.

Walmart is currently offering Death Stranding for $29.99, which is 33% cheaper than its normal price of $44.99. Immediately upon its release Death Stranding received mixed reviews from both players and critics but was mostly praised due to its unique gameplay, and exploration of real-life themes. The game revolves around the character of Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus), who finds himself carrying the responsibility of reconnecting isolated colonies via a wireless communications network.

Moreover, the Collector’s Edition of Death Stranding has also been reduced to a cheaper price. Originally, the special edition retails for $199.99, but antonline, a reputable reseller at Walmart, is now offering the Collector’s Edition for $149.99. Death Stranding’s special bundle includes the game in a steelbook case, a full-sized BB-pod statue, Ludens Keychain, and a Bridges Cargo Case. It is worth pointing out that Walmart’s deal on Death Stranding’s Collector’s Edition is one of the cheapest right now, and is perfect for the most dedicated Death Stranding fans.

Now that Death Stranding has been out for about four months now, many are wondering what’s next for Kojima Productions. In an interview with Famitsu Weekly Magazine last month, Hideo Kojima revealed that the studio is looking into developing smaller-scale games. As of the moment, Kojima did not delve into details as to what he is referring to, but many predict that these games could be in the form of episodic or digital-only formats. While this approach is an alien concept when it comes to Kojima-made games, it is interesting to see what the developer will come up with in the future.

Meanwhile, a rumor is currently circulating that Kojima may be working on something Death Stranding related this year. According to unconfirmed reports, Kojima is looking to make a follow-up to Death Stranding, but instead of taking the usual route and making a video game sequel, it has been reported that Kojima’s unconfirmed Death Stranding project will be taking the form of a manga. Of course, there are numerous video games that are deeply linked to a manga such as the Pokemon franchise, so a manga sequel of Death Stranding is not at all surprising if rumors are to be believed.

Death Stranding is available now on PS4 and will launch to the PC on June 2, 2020.
