DWTS Kenya Moore Reveals She Danced Through An Injury On Disney Week

After the two-night Disney Week on Dancing With The Stars season 30, reality star Kenya Moore said she danced through a painful injury. The 50-year-old has been a popular contestant for this year’s competition. Kenya earned much of her fame on the hit Bravo reality series The Real Housewives Of Atlanta. In the Bravo franchise, viewers watched Kenya twirl her way through uncomfortable fights with her peers and hold her own against a slew of frenemies. Before she joined RHOA, Kenya was the winner of Miss USA in 1993 and earned a top spot in Miss Universe the same year.

Kenya has often described her time in pageants as one of the most interesting highlights of the RHOA star’s life, and it was here when she learned how to command the stage and earn the audience’s respect. She was the second African American woman to win Miss USA. While competing on DWTS, she has both enjoyed and been challenged by the new journey.

During a post-show presser after Disney Week, Kenya told Page Six that she had to dance through a painful injury after jumping on her partner Brandon Armstrong and landing wrong. She thought she landed on two of her ribs and was certain that they were broken. After the tough accident, Kenya said she was unable to breathe, and she faced “excruciating pain.”

Kenya also revealed in the post-show presser that, after the performance, Kenya told Brandon that she needed “to go to urgent care” so she could obtain an X-ray. Though the injury was painful, the doctor ultimately told her that her ribs were fine. Her injury occurred during the song “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s Moana, which will become a TV series. Each of the other contestants had to dance to other songs from Disney. Kenya is now excited to perform for Grease Night in the next episode.

Many stars who join DWTS don’t realize how difficult the competition will be until they begin their practice. Last week was a double elimination. Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess were forced to go home. Matt James and Lindsay Arnold were also eliminated because the judges decided to save Kenya.

Although Kenya is worried that she has only one more chance to keep going, many of her fans are rooting for her to make it to the end, just like she did in Miss USA in 1993. Most housewives who compete on DWTS don’t usually make it very far, though many have participated. Perhaps the former pageant queen will win the title of Dancing With The Stars and twirl her way through a victory dance.

Dancing With The Stars airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
