Dynasty: 10 Worst Things Adam Has Ever Done

The CW’s Dynasty is full of backstabbing, evil and deceptive plot twists, often at the hands of Adam. Here are the 10 worst things Adam has done.

Adam Carrington, the long lost firstborn son of Blake and Alexis Carrington, is as devious and cunning as his parents are. His sinister personality probably is the product of genetics and his traumatic childhood, since he was kidnapped in his nursery and then raised by the same unstable woman who, with her ex-boyfriend, took him away from his biological family.

His first goal is to claim the Carrington name and to be Blake’s beloved son. Adam is the most dangerous character in the show, considering his physician knowledge, his talent at manipulating and his creatively sick mind.

10 Faking Medical Prescriptions

Theresa, Adam’s adoptive mother, was addicted to opioids since middle age, due to previous health problems. He decided to use his position of physician to secretly prescribe his patients’ opioids and then collect them for his sick mother.

To Blake and his siblings, he declared that considering her miserable condition he had no other way to take care of her and, therefore, proceeded to feed her addiction with painkillers. Instead of opting for rehabilitation or professional help, he chose the most harmful and easy way to deal with the situation.

9 Killing His Adoptive Mother

When Adam is first introduced in season 2 of Dynasty, he’s not yet aware of being a Carrington. Theresa, while feeling sick and in pain, confessed that she used to be his nanny and that she had kidnapped him with her ex-boyfriend.

Shocked and in anger, he gives her a lethal dose of animal tranquilizers and decides to find his family. Adam had the right to feel hurt and walk away from her, but such drastic and violent behavior seem to just be part of him. He’s a Carrington, after all!

8 Driving Steven Insane

The first member of the family he got in touch with was Steven. The first step of his deception was to use the alias of George Emerson, a character from Steven’s favorite and most important book, to get closer to his brother, gain his trust and learn the family’s history and secrets.

He then managed to convince Fallon and Sam that George was just an imaginary character in Steven’s mind, making him look insane. It was never clear why Adam planned on taking his place, but his plan worked perfectly: Blake took him in and he became a prodigal son, while Steven ended up locked in a psychiatric facility.

7 Helping Laura Van Kirk’s Fake Cancer

In the CW storyline, Adam surprisingly ended up sleeping with Laura Van Kirk, Liam Ridley’s mother. Laura wanted to depart Liam and Fallon and, therefore, planned a deception with the aid of Adam’s medical abilities and resources, privileges that would permit her to fake the test’s results.

Liam initially believed her story and decided to be by her side, but only until Fallon realized that something was wrong. It’s unclear what Adam would have gained from such a plan, probably pure entertainment and a massive vent of his constant jealousy.

6 Poisoning Jeff Colby

At the end of the second season, Jeff Colby learns that he has a deadly neurological disease. Being very intuitive and already suspicious of Adam, he figures out the cause of his illness: Adam had painted the walls of his office with toxic paint, which, once inhaled, began to progressively cause Jeff to have permanent brain damage.

There has been a rivalry between the two of them since Jeff moved to Atlantix, moreover, Colby wanted to get rid of Adam too. However, Adam took the darker path and committed murder, once again.

5 Burning His Mother’s Face

After taking the DNA test, Adam managed to convince everyone that he was a Carrington, except for his mother Alexis, who was still defending Hank Sullivan, the actor she hired to portray Adam. When Adam walked into her room, he found her burning the proof of her connection to the fake Adam plot.

He was hurt and indignant at first, however, he then told her she was doing the right thing by covering up her traces and, shortly after, shoved her head in the fireplace until her face got completely burned.

4 Boycotting Fallon

Sometimes Fallon seems to be the sibling Adam likes the most, other times he has no problem in manipulating and playing games with her. Besides helping Laura Van Kirk drive Liam away from her and exhibiting inappropriate behavior around her (like kissing her on the lips), exposing the Trixie secret and Liam’s son’s news were the most petty attempts.

Adam had learned about Trixie’s death from Steven in Paraguay and had managed to make her corpse surface in the season finale, while she was completely unaware that Anders and Blake had dumped her in the lake.

3 Choosing Fallon’s Face For Alexis’ Facial Reconstruction

After Adam violently shoved her face in the fireplace, Alexis had to get her face surgically reconstructed. She had the chance to choose what she would like to look like, but Adam secretly gave the surgeons a picture of Fallon and told them this was the new face Alexis wanted.

The result was creepy and one of the most chilling and controversial scenes in Dynasty: he had made his mother identical to his sister. The fact also drove Alexis away to Europe, where she’d get her face reconstructed again.

2 Almost Killing Liam

Liam and Fallon were the two characters who hardly fell for Adam’s games — they’ve always been aware of his villainy and eventually planned to take him down and teach him a lesson. However, after Liam confronted him, Adam felt threatened and, in anger, hit his head with a vase and locked him up in a lumber-room while he was completely unconscious.

Liam woke up and managed to get out of there, but then he passed out again as he fell in the pool and the blood started flowing from his wound.

1 Tearing His Family Apart

Just like his mother, Adam does care for his family in his sick and twisted way. He is mostly driven by jealousy, anger and trauma, but all he does seems to be an attempt to have the family of his dreams. Since the day he arrived, all he did was cause damage to his siblings and the company.

All the mind games and stratagems destroyed their home to the point where, at the end of season 2, Adam, Blake and Fallon were the only Carringtons left in the manor.
