Elite The 10 Best Couples Ranked

Netflix’s teen drama, Elite has aired for four seasons and has featured a wide range of dramatic stories. Despite the dangerous and murderous situations the characters find themselves in, most of them still have time for romance (more than one in many cases).

Some of the relationships on the show are loving and heart-warming to watch, while others are downright toxic. Many of the best relationships on Elite have been the slow-burn ones that have been built over several seasons but some that never quite got started were just as captivating to watch.

10 Marina & Samu

One couple that never really got going was Marina and Samu, mostly because she was distracted by his brother, Nano. If Marina had survived, these two could have made a sweet couple and managed to go the distance.

That being said, it’s unlikely that Samu would ever have gotten over the betrayal of Marina sleeping with Nano. Furthermore, Samu’s rocky relationship with Marina’s brother, Guzman would surely have meant disaster for this couple- meeting the parents with Guzman sat at the other side of the table certainly would have been awkward.

9 Marina and Nano

Marina and Nano were typical forbidden lovers; both tried to fight their feelings for each other in order to spare Samu’s feelings but eventually gave in. Of course, no teen drama would be complete without the two brothers fighting over one girl and Elite is no different.

Elite of course has the added complication of Marina’s death to factor into the doomed love triangle; it’s hard not to feel sorry for Nano when he’s forced to go on the run after being blamed for the murder. It was obvious from the get-go that Nano cared deeply about Marina and despite the many obstacles, the two could have blossomed into something long-term.

8 Polo, Carla & Christian

While the show has had its fair share of love triangles, Elite fans soon learned that characters don’t always have to choose. One of the most surprising developments of the first season was Christian joining Polo and Carla’s relationship. Polo was jealous of Carla and Christian’s attraction but instead of fighting for Carla as expected, he got closer to Christian and also became attracted to him.

The three-way relationship was doomed from the start, with Christian being more of a pawn in the other two’s power games. Despite not being one of the most romantic relationships, this throuple was captivating to watch and has paved the way for many similar relationships on the show.

7 Guzman and Lu

Guzman and Lu were the typical popular kids high-school pairing. Guzman and Lu were evidently wrong and brought the worst out of each other but their fights were certainly exciting to watch. Through the course of the series, Guzman and Lu move away from each other and are able to develop as characters.

Fans felt bad for Lu when she was constantly belittled and used by Guzman but it was empowering to see her finally realize her self-worth. While romance wasn’t to be for this pair, it was heartwarming to see them support each other and the failed relationship was a huge learning curve for both characters.

6 Ander & Polo

Elite The 10 Best Couples Ranked

Ander and Polo never really amounted to much more than a one-off hook-up but if things had been different they could have made a good couple. Ander and Polo were lifelong friends and certainly cared a lot about each other. Ander was tormented by guilt when he was caught between Guzman and Polo after the latter was revealed as Marina’s killer.

Rather than immediately turning his back on Polo, Ander was conflicted and did provide a much-needed source of support for his friend. Ander cheating on Omar with Polo certainly wasn’t the best grounds for a relationship but it would have been interesting to see their dynamic taken further.

5 Valerio, Caye & Polo

Polo certainly found himself in some of the show’s most interesting relationships. No stranger to the three-way relationship, Polo entered into another throuple in the show’s third season. Polo found it difficult to welcome Valerio into the relationship which led to some tension between the three; but, Valerio did seem to have genuine feelings for both Polo and Caye.

By the time of Polo’s death, there was no love lost between these three. Caye tried her best to help Polo, even when he didn’t deserve it and seemed genuinely devastated by his death but this relationship seemed doomed from the start.

4 Ander & Omar

While their relationship went through many ups and downs over the course of the show, Ander and Omar are one of the longest-standing couples. The relationship gives Omar the strength to stand up to his family and allows him to finally be himself.

That being said, the relationship was never easy and faced one problem after another; many fans hated the Elite plot twist of Omar cheating on Ander with Nadia’s boyfriend, Malick. Both Ander and Omar cheated on each other and Ander pushed Omar away after he was diagnosed with cancer. The couple was definitely toxic at times but when they were good, they were one of the most loving partnerships on the show.

3 Rebe & Mencia

Elite The 10 Best Couples Ranked

For most of her time on the show, Rebe has been quite closed off and it’s not often she allows herself to be vulnerable. One of the few times Rebe does let her guard down, she is left heartbroken by Samu. However, things finally began to look up for Rebe in season four with the arrival of the new student, Mencia.

In true Elite style, Rebe and Mencia’s path to love was far from smooth sailing but the two eventually became a strong and loving partnership. Rebe was confused by her feelings for Mencia at first and Mencia was distracted by her family drama and her connection with the dangerous Armando. By the end of the season though, Rebe and Mencia have become a united front and will surely go from strength to strength in the next season.

2 Samu & Carla

Elite The 10 Best Couples Ranked

One of the most unexpected pairings on the show was Samu and Carla. In the first season, the two characters barely registered on each other’s radars but when they finally began to notice each other, the chemistry was electric.

Samu doubted his own worth when he was with Carla and she wasn’t exactly rushing to reassure him; at times, fans hated Carla for the way she treated Samu. She was always too focused on what other people thought and Samu constantly questioned whether he was good enough so it wasn’t particularly surprising when these two didn’t work out. That being said, it was still crushing to see Carla and Samu part ways after so much build-up.

1 Guzman & Nadia

The ultimate Elite couple has to be Guzman and Nadia. Despite Guzman’s relationship with Lu, a spark was clear between these two right from the off. Guzman and Nadia were from totally different worlds and were an unlikely pairing. The appalling communication skills required from any teen drama character meant that fans were in for a very slow-burning relationship here.

That being said, when Guzman and Nadia finally got together it was a moment worth celebrating (and even when they weren’t together, they always had each other’s backs). Breaking the couple up and choosing not to reunite them when Guzman left the show seems like a missed opportunity but perhaps the two will find their way back to each other one day…
