Dodge Roll’s Enter The Gungeon is an arcade-style shooter that released April of 2016. The game is compiled of fast-paced action and many, many bullets. As the game sells itself on containing those two things, there is also a bevy of awesome bosses to fight along the way.

Each boss has a unique design and fighting style. Some are exceptionally easy, but some can give the player a run for their money. Ten bosses, in particular, can be very challenging during even the most skilled gamer’s playthrough. As the title suggests, this list will not contain any of the secret bosses.

10 The Gorgun

The Gorgun is essentially Medussa dual-wielding uzis. She is one of the tougher bosses in the game based on the fact that she crawls underground and then pops up randomly to spray her guns in every direction. While not being the toughest boss fight the player will experience throughout their run, she will not be forgotten, either.

9 Treadnaught

Treadnaught is a sizable tank that launches a giant rocket followed by sporadic bullets. He follows the player around at a steady pace, never causing too much of a threat. However, there are bunkers placed inside the room that the player can run into, making it difficult to run away.

8 Interdimensional Horror

Fighting against a mutated monster is usually two things in a video game, creepy and challenging. When facing off against the Interdimensional Horror, the player can expect a tough fight.

The Interdimensional Horror is interesting, but the tiny zombies that spawn frequently are the highlight of this boss fight. The Monster, himself, fires three different primary attacks, two of the three attacks being difficult to escape from.

7 Dr. Wolf’s Monster

This boss is best described as futuristic Frankenstein. Wolf’s Monster carries two heavy machine guns as arms and stalks the player around the room until his demise. The bullet scheme is extremely random, almost as if the monster is holding the R2 button down to “spray and pray.” He is not the most arduous boss fight, but he certainly gives a valiant effort each and every time.

6 Mine Flayer

Enter The Gungeon’s unique take on the classic D&D creature, Mine Flayer’s design is one of the best in the game. Mine Flayer is also one of the more challenging bosses, as he can be quite unpredictable. His bullet pattern varies, and, throughout the fight, he vanishes to a random part of the room.

Mine Flayer is very skilled in keeping the player away from him. He throws more assisted gadgets and bells out into the room than any other boss, while also managing to shoot fast and unique bullet patterns.

5 Cannonbarlog

Cannonbarlog is a boss that has many different traits. He is not a very mobile boss. Nevertheless, he does shoot a bevy of different bullet patterns. Cannonbarlog also blacks out the room, making it unable for the player to see anything other than oncoming projectiles.

Combine that with the fact that Cannonbarlog uses the tactic of overlapping his bullet patterns, and most players will have a great deal of difficulty in front of them.

4 The Last Human

When facing The Last Human, the player is a mobile computer. As a computer, the goal is to wipe out the human race. Does the last human put up a good fight? Yes, he is very challenging. While in the fight, The Last Human is accompanied by his henchmen. These are arguably the most aggressive and difficult in the game. In many cases, the henchmen shoot you more than The Last Human, which is not easy, as The Last Human has a very arbitrary style.

3 High Priest

Enter The Gungeon 10 Hardest Main Bosses Ranked

The High Priest is the darkest boss in the game, and we mean that literally. He glides around the room in a red robe with his hood covering his face. This is because, to the player’s surprise, the High Priest lowers his hood frequently to reveal that his head is a pistol.

The High Priest is a sinister boss that causes the player to struggle a fair amount. Just as Cannonbarlog, the High Priest cuts the lights, triggering a new challenge.

2 High Dragun

High Dragun is a massive red dragon who wields two pistols. Yes, a dragon wielding two pistols. The High Dragun lurks on the edge of the room, shooting fire at the player, as well as firing his dual-wielded weapons in every direction. His bullet scheme is unlike any others, as he periodically makes a rain shower out of his bullets. This causes the player to have very little free space in the room.

1 Lich

The devastating secret boss of Enter The Gungeon, the Lich presides over Bullet Hell, which can only be accessed once a character manages to kill their past. He lives up to his reputation and is extremely difficult to take on, particularly if the game’s RNG hasn’t been on the player’s side. Though most players won’t encounter him unless they specifically embark on a quest to, those who conquer the Lich claim some serious bragging rights!
