Eternals Toy Gives Best Look Yet At Deviant Villain Kro

A newly revealed Eternals toy offers the best look yet at the main Deviant villain Kro. As Eternals was delayed from 2020 to this year, it’s taken some time for fans to actually get a glimpse at what Chloé Zhao’s first Marvel movie has in store. With the film currently scheduled for release in November, the promotional efforts for Eternals have begun to start up in earnest. In addition to recent looks at all 10 members of the titular team, the latest Eternals trailer teased the major conflict that pulls the cosmic characters out of the shadows after thousands of years spent watching over humanity.

Each of the Eternals have incredible abilities bestowed upon them by their creators, the Celestials. As comics fans already know, the Celestials also created another cosmic race: The antagonistic Deviants, the more imperfect counterparts to the Eternals. Though little is known about what exactly the Deviants have in store, it’s confirmed they will be the main villains of Eternals, and that Kro, an immortal warlord, will be their leader. Kro’s role has largely remained a mystery, though last week’s trailer revealed the first look at him from the movie.

Now thanks to a new toy, fans can get an even closer peek at Kro. Yahoo Entertainment exclusively revealed the Eternals line of Marvel Legends figures earlier this weekend, and Kro is included alongside the movie’s heroes. The figure gives an up-close look at the finer details of Kro’s design, from his sinewy limbs to his alien face. Check it out below.

The Eternals trailer glimpses Kro holding Angelina Jolie’s Thena tight in his grasp. His plans for humanity remain unclear, but he’s heard ominously telling the Eternals they can’t protect anyone. Seeing as the Eternals are being positioned as the most powerful figures in the MCU, it stands to reason that their enemy will be equally formidable. Kro has the potential to be even bigger than Thanos (Josh Brolin), which is no small feat.

Zhao strove to make Eternals as grounded as possible, but it’s with Kro that the movie will sway closer to the typical spectacle Marvel fans are used to. His design is appropriately unnerving, and hopefully his storyline will be just as compelling. The MCU has a problem with crafting memorable villains, and if Eternals isn’t careful, Kro can fall to the wayside like past CGI-heavy big bads. However, with so much of his story still a mystery, it’s anyone’s guess as to where Kro will fall on the ranking of Marvel’s villains.
