2018 was quite the year. Thanos decimated half of the universe, The Royal Wedding was canceled (Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande), and Ma’am became America’s sweetheart overnight. There were also a bunch of major movies that came out during the year.

We’re more than a few months out of 2018, but it’s always fun for people to go back and see if they were able to catch all of the films that were released during a single year. 2019 is going to have to pump the brakes for a second because we’re going back to 2018. Just to preface: a film’s number on this list doesn’t determine its quality. This is not a ranking. Anyway, check out the list to see every major movie released in 2018!

34 Isle of Dogs

If someone says Isle Of Dogs super quick, it sounds like they’re saying “pile of logs.” Actually, it really sounds like “I love dogs.” Wes Anderson is one of our finest directors, so don’t miss out on this movie. It’s a visual wonder to behold.

33 Halloween

How funny would it be if this movie was actually about Christmas or Thanksgiving? It’d be even funnier if it were released on April Fool’s Day.

Anyway, Halloween was more or less the proper sequel to the original film fans had always wanted. The movie also made like a gazillion dollars. So that’s cool for people who like money. Halloween has laughs and scares in equal measure.

32 Roma

Roma is a biographical film about Touched By An Angel actress Roma Downey. Only people’s grandmas who religiously watch the Hallmark channel will understand that joke. In reality, Roma is about a family’s life in Mexico during the 1970s. Alfonso Cuaron’s direction is amazing.

31 To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

We’re pretty sure Netflix owns Noah Centhineo’s soul at this point. Isn’t he slated to do like two (thousand) more movies for them within the next year? Regardless, this film made him an overnight heartthrob. It’s about a girl who writes three different letters to herself confessing her love to three different boys. The boys receive the letters and all hell breaks loose.

People are decapitated, dragons die, and Cersei ends up on the Iron Throne. This was easily one of the most trending movies of 2018. Hurry up and watch it to avoid FOMO!

30 Bird Box

If anyone hasn’t watched Bird Box already, they’ve at least seen enough memes of it at this point to understand it’s about Sandra Bullock wearing a blindfold. It also involves monsters. People should just watch it so they don’t feel left out of Twitter conversations.

29 Ralph Breaks The Internet

This entire series should just be Ralph breaking something new each movie. Ralph Breaks The Internet, Ralph Break Dances, Ralph Breaks Me Off A Piece Of That Kit-Kat Bar. Everyone knows who Wreck-It Ralph is. If anyone is an animation buff or Disney fan, they should seek out this sequel.

28 The Nun

No, this is not a prequel to Sally Field’s The Flying Nun. Again, that’s a joke only people’s grandmas will understand. The Nun is actually a prequel to The Conjuring movies. The Nun is worth renting if horror movies are your cup of tea.

27 Mission: Impossible – Fallout

These movies are eventually just going to boil down to Tom Cruise finding new ways to hurt himself. It’ll be like a two-hundred million dollar version of Jackass.

Joking aside, the Mission: Impossible franchise has been pumping out the best American action films within the last couple of years. Fallout is no exception.

26 Incredibles 2

Has anyone gone on the Incredicoaster at Disney’s California Adventure? It’s worth riding solely for the part where Mr. Incredible screams, “Cookie!” in the guests’ ears as they travel by. That probably sounds really weird out of context.

The Incredibles 2 features a bunch of gags where Mr. Incredible bribes his son, Jack Jack, with cookies. That’s the context. Incredibles 2 is also the follow up to one of the best superhero movies ever made. Jack Jack’s scenes are the funniest parts of the movie.

25 Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

There are dinosaurs in this one. Watch it to get hyped for the new Jurassic World ride at Universal Studios. We’re not sponsored by them, it just looks dope.

24 The Meg

Is there anything cooler than Jason Statham fighting a giant shark? The answer is no. See it now.

23 A Quiet Place

Who wouldn’t want to watch Jim Halpert battle aliens? John Krasinski’s debut as a horror director makes for a genuinely fun and tense film.

22 Ready Player One

Basically every single IP ever made is in this movie. No, we’re not referring to IP beer. Despite doing good business, the film was severely overlooked by critics and is easily Spielberg’s most crowd-pleasing movie in years.

21 Hereditary

People lost their heads screaming while watching Hereditary. Too soon? If no one understands that joke, then that means they need to watch this movie immediately.

20 Vice

Another movie, another body transformation by Christian Bale. One can’t help but be concerned for the actor. His fluctuating weight is so crazy. Oh yeah, and the movie is about Dick Cheney.

19 Ocean’s 8

This entire series has always started in the middle. Ocean’s 8, 11, 13… When are they going to take it back to the start with just Ocean? Anyway, this film has a stacked cast of A-list actresses. Sandra Bullock had quite the year in 2018.

18 The Favourite

This one has a lot of British people in it, so it must be good. Also, it was an awards darling. There’s a lot of women wearing giant dresses and doing wacky antics.

17 Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Has anyone ever noticed that young Grindelwald looks just like Jeffree Star? Go watch the movie to see what we mean. No one will be able to unsee the comparison after they’ve viewed the film.

16 Solo: A Star Wars Story

Solo is an entertaining flick due to the fact that it’s so fun to watch Childish Gambino fly around a spaceship. There are a few good one-liners and action sequences to keep audiences happy.

15 Venom

If there was a single line from any movie in 2018 that captured America’s cultural zeitgeist, it would definitely be when Venom says, “Turd in the wind.” We salute you, Tom Hardy.

14 Mortal Engines

The title doesn’t lie. This is a film for people who like big mortals and big engines. That’s pretty much the entire movie. Giant cars with people driving them. If this is what someone is into, then they shouldn’t miss it.

13 Black Panther

After this film came out, there was a nationwide fervor for pet rhinos. Regardless of how one views Black Panther’s quality, it’s undeniable that it had a huge impact on pop culture.

12 Bumblebee

Sure, it’s not the same watching a Transformers movie without hearing Shia Labeouf shout, “Bumblebee!” However, Bumblebee is easily the most endearing film in the franchise since the first Transformers. It’s great for the whole family.

11 A Star Is Born

Let’s all sing it together: TELL ME SOMETHIN’, GURL! A Star Is Born is sad, exciting, and hopeful in equal measure. This is a really cool directorial debut for Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper).

10 Mary Poppins Returns

Lin-Manuel Miranda does an incredible job playing as Mary Poppins. Oh, wait. He’s in the movie but doesn’t actually play Mary Poppins. The film has a few catchy tunes that make it worth watching.

9 Aquaman

Only Jason Momoa could’ve made Aquaman such a sizzling beefcake. Aquaman is bananas. It features people riding sharks and an octopus playing the drums.

8 Bohemian Rhapsody

Ever since the release of Bohemian Rhapsody, it seems like millennials are genuinely confusing Rami Malek for the real Freddy Mercury. There are honest-to-God groupies for the film’s actors. Malek gives an admittedly-interesting performance.

7 Deadpool 2

Even though Deadpool 2 came out in 2018, it feels like its been on HBO GO for the past three years now. If anyone hasn’t seen it yet, then check it out on HBO. We’re sure it’ll be on there for another decade.

6 Green Book

It’s safe to say everyone unanimously agrees that Green Book deserved to win Best Picture. *ducks for cover* Regardless, it’s always fun to watch any movie that wins Best Picture of the year.

5 BlacKkKlansman

Thankfully, the existence of this film led to Spike Lee showing up at the Oscars wearing the funkiest suit ever. This is easily Spike Lee’s most critically-acclaimed movie in years.

4 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

They should’ve thrown Tom Holland into the story as an alternate dimension Spider-Man that likes to spoil movies. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is just as great as everyone says. It’s easily one of the year’s best films.

3 Ant-Man and the Wasp

Considering the fact that Ant-Man also has the ability to turn into a giant, one wonders why he doesn’t prefer to be called Giant-Man at this point. The film is a wonderful palette cleanser after the heavy events of Avengers: Infinity War.

2 Crazy Rich Asians

This film might hold the record for the most diamonds and dresses in a single film. Crazy Rich Asians is hilarious and sweet. Bring on the sequels!

1 Avengers: Infinity War

This is the Avengers film where everyone lives, right? Joking aside, there wasn’t a single mainstream movie that had the same impact as Avengers: Infinity War. “The Snap” will forever be a landmark cinematic moment.
