The Flash star Ezra Miller issued a cryptic warning to members of the Ku Klux Klan.

“This is a message for the Beulaville chapter of the North Carolina Ku Klux Klan,” Miller said in a video uploaded to their Instagram. “Hello, first of all. How are y’all doing? It’s me. Look, if y’all wanna die, I suggest just killing yourselves with your own guns, OK? Otherwise, keep doing exactly what you’re doing right now — and you know what I’m talking about — and then, you know, we’ll do it for you if that’s really what you want. OK, talk to you soon, OK? Bye!”

While the exact situation that Miller is referring to in their video is unclear, they did specify that his message was “not a joke” in the post’s caption. “Please disseminate (gross!) this video to all those whom it may concern,” they wrote. “This is not a joke and even though I do recognize myself to be a clown please trust me and take this seriously. Let’s save some live now ok babies? Love you like woah.”

Miller is currently set to star in The Flash as the titular hero, which will be the actor’s first solo project in the DC Extended Universe after appearing as Barry Allen/The Flash in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and again in 2017’s Justice League. Director Andy Muschietti confirmed in October 2021 that filming had officially wrapped on The Flash, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Nov. 4.

The actor also portrays the wizard Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beast films, which serve as both prequels and spinoffs of the Harry Potter film franchise. Miller first appeared in the role in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 2016, and again in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. They will reprise the role for the third installment in the franchise, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which premieres in theaters on April 15.
