FIFA 21 How to Use The New Agile Dribbling

Association football. Soccer, as some say. The Beautiful Game. Whatever it’s called, it’s the most popular sport on Earth and FIFA 21 is the latest iteration of the mega-hit association football-simulation video game series. Some footie fans might be waiting till the next-gen version of the game comes out, but until then, players on current consoles can get in on the 2021 season if they want. Some might be wondering, though: is it very different from the last FIFA game, FIFA 20? Maybe not, although the game does have some new features and improvements.

Of all of those tweaks and twists on the formula, one of the best new features is the Agile Dribbling system. Agile Dribbling will allow players tighter control of the ball. This can be a game-changer when coming face to face with a defender, or when trying to sneak past your opponent’s back line, although doing so is a little different than previous entries in the series. Here is how to use Agile Dribbling in FIFA 21.

How to Use Agile Dribbling in FIFA 21

Previous FIFA games had Face Up Dribbling, which allowed players more direct control over the ball between their feet. Agile Dribbling essentially serves the same function, although it is a bit simpler to execute. To use Agile Dribbling on the PlayStation 4, simply hold R1 and use the left directional stick. One can do the same on the Xbox One by holding RB and using the left directional stick. That’s it! Everyone can now dribble agilely away!

But do make sure to use this new function when most appropriate. A winger doesn’t need to use the fancy footwork enabled by Agile Dribbling when trying to quickly get down the pitch. Instead, use Agile Dribbling to cut by a defender, or when trying to navigate a way through several defenders. It’s an especially useful move when in and around the penalty box as things can get crowded and messy. Agile Dribbling can also be used in conjunction with skill moves to be even more effective against opponents. Keep in mind, though, players with better dribbling stats are going to do better with these combos and Agile Dribbling in general. It helps to know the ins and outs of one’s teams (from what a striker’s dominant foot is, to who can run the fastest), but anyone can benefit from knowing when to use Agile Dribbling.
