Fortnite Every New Unvaulted (and Vaulted) Item in Chapter 2 Season 2

With the arrival of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, Epic Games has introduced new items, brought back some vaulted items, and has vaulted a few items removing them from the game. The addition and removal of items and weapons will once again shift the meta of Fortnite and will change the way people play.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 adds three new items to the game, along with bringing back nine weapons and vaulting four weapons that played large roles in Chapter 2 Season 1’s meta. This guide will inform players of the items Epic has brought back to Fortnite, what has been removed from the game, and what are and how to use the new items introduced in Season 2.

New Items in Fortnite Season 2

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 adds three new items: the Creepin’ Cardboard box, Decoy Grenade, and Key Cards. All of these items are consumables meaning they can only be used once, but each has its own specific purpose.

Key Cards are a new item that is used to open locked doors at specific points of interest (POI). Keycards are dropped by new NPC’s introduced in Season 2 called Bosses. Bosses appear at the 5 new POIs. Upon eliminating bosses a keycard will be dropped that can then be used to open that POI’s vault.

The Creepin’ Cardboard is a new consumable item similar to the Bush. It comes in stacks of 5 and they can be thrown on the ground to produce a cardboard box. Players can jump inside boxes to hide, and while inside they can move around. The Box is like the bush as it will absorb one shot unless the player is peeking out of the box, then the player will take damage directly without losing the box. Items can also be thrown into boxes.

The Decoy Grenade is a throwable that creates a duplicate version of yourself for a few seconds. These decoys act on their own, can run, break walls, and even shoot enemies. They have 100 health and disappear without dropping their loadout after they are eliminated. Decoys act similarly to bots in Season 1.

Vaulted Items in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2

Fortnite Every New Unvaulted (and Vaulted) Item in Chapter 2 Season 2

Every season of Fortnite comes with its fair share of vaulted weapons. These are weapons that are temporarily removed from the game to change how players play and to keep the game interesting. When Fortnite Chapter 2 started, a select few weapons were allowed in the game. With the start of Season 2, a good number of weapons are being added, but not without a portion of Season 1’s weapons being vaulted.

Epic Games has decided to vault all Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles, Damage Traps, Purple and Gold SMGs, and Green and White Rocket Launchers. Each of these weapons played a major role in Chapter 2 Season 1, but are being replaced by a plethora of familiar weapons that have been un-vaulted for at the start of Season 2
