One of the most exciting parts of the Forza Horizon racing series is unlocking various Barn Finds and restoring old classic vehicles to their former glory. In Forza Horizon 5, there is 14 unlockable Barn Finds in the game with each requiring a specific method of locating it on the map and physically procuring the hidden car in question.

For example, four of the Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5 require completing side objectives in various expedition modes, while others require different methods of acquisition. As fans flock to the sprawling Mexican map featured in Forza Horizon 5, find out the most effective ways of finding the lost barnyard treasures.

10 Wait For Rumors To Appear

Since Barn Finds are not readily available at the start of the game, it’s important for players to remain patient until the official “Barn Find Rumor” boxes begin appearing on the map after playing for a while. A vague location will pop up on the map, but a player can only pinpoint the specific location acquiring the rumor.

Once Barn Find Rumors are earned, purple spotlights will encircle the precise area of a hidden barn location and a player can simply drive there to unlock the vehicle. This is the easiest, fastest, and most obvious way of unlocking Barn Finds.

9 Use Drone Mode POV

If drivers are struggling to accrue Find Barn Rumors or fail to locate the hidden areas, another way to unlock Barn Finds in the game is to open Drone Mode in the Creative Hub option in the settings menu.

By activating Drone Mode, a player will be able to fly over the entire map and use a bird’s-eye-view to spot the hidden barn locations. This also saves a ton of time as flying over the country is much faster than driving, even if a player has one of the fastest cars available. 7 Purchase The Treasure Map

If a player has neither of the fastest Forza Horizon 5 cars nor the patience to unlock all 14 Barn Finds individually, then they can simply purchase the whole Treasure Map via the downloadable content and essentially circumnavigate the entire search.

Buying the Treasure Map DLC will not only give a player the exact location of the hidden Barn Finds, but it also makes each classic car inside them instantly accessible for restoration. Granted, this isn’t the most challenging way of unearthing the collection of classic cars, but it’s a fast and easy way to complete the tasks if a player can afford it.

6 Participate In Gift Drops

Another new addition to the Forza Horizon 5 Barn Finds gameplay is the Gift Drop option. 5 Find The Lost Notes

With the five general ways to unlock Barn Finds out of the way, it’s time to focus on specific hints for various expedition side-objectives. For instance, the second Barn Find in the game offers the chance to obtain the stellar Jaguar Sport XJR-15, which can only be unlocked by locating the lost barn find notes in the Wilds Expedition. If the car isn’t one of the best Forza Horizon 5 street racers, it’s right up there.

This expedition requires driving to and searching the jungle airport, finding clues that lead to the discovery of the hidden notes. Other objectives include finding Rammro’s flight gear, flight recorder, and lost money, but it’s finding the buried notes that will unlock the Jaguar.

4 Reach The Summit Of Central Ruin

On Map 3 of the game, a specific Barn Find will require completing a mission in the Apex Expedition Mode. Once the task is completed successfully, a priceless GMC Jimmy will be made available for ownership and restoration.

The Apex Expedition calls for traversing Tulum and hitting key objectives that include finding a signal for the Horizon radio beacon, photographing an ancient Jade and Golden statues, and most importantly, reaching the top of the Central Ruin summit where Ramiro landed. Completing the final leg of the expedition will unlock the GMC Jimmy.

3 Collect A Sample From The Hot Springs

The third and final expedition-based method of unlocking Barn Finds comes via the penultimate map in the game. Playable in the Baja Expedition mode, a Ford Racing Escort MK1 can be unlocked by performing volcano-related tasks.

While accolades are up for grabs by putting on a thermal suit, finding a perfect seismic location for recording, and smashing five thermal heat vents to release geothermal energy, the most important task for unlocking the Barn Find is collecting a sample of the hot springs near the volcano. Once successfully completed, the Ford Escort will be in the player’s garage. Another tip, try using the superior BMW XM 5, one of the best road racers in Forza.

2 Purchase La Cabana House

The 14th and final Barn Find to unlock in the game can only be done by completing the entire Baja Expedition. However, an extra step is required to obtain the Renault 4L Export, which may put a dent in a player’s bank account.

While 10 of the hidden retro vehicles in the game are available via the random Barn Find Rumors that appear in the game, the Renault 4L Export can only be unlocked by purchasing the La Cabana house after completing the Baja Expedition. Of all the hidden Forza items, this one might take the longest to obtain.

1 Play The Vocho Story Mode

In addition to the 14 unlockable Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5, there is one final Barn Find available only in story mode. In order to procure and restore the precious 1963 VW Beetle, known as a “Vocho” in Spanish, players will need to play in the “Vocho” Story Mode.

In specific, gamers will need to play the Vocho Horizon Story until the second chapter, which is unlocked through the Mexico section of the Adventure option.
