Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

From birthdays and wedding receptions to bachelor and bachelorette parties, the gang hosted and attended their fair share of parties during the 10 years of Friends, and it’s safe to say some went down a lot better than others.

A memorable party usually came once or twice a season on Friends and what made them so consistent is that no matter what the occasion was or who was involved, no celebration ever went smoothly. As a fan, no one wants an uneventful party, so in this case, the more drama, the better.

10 Rachel’s Going Away Party (Season 10, Episode 16)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

This isn’t your average party as it features a lot of tears. When Rachel plans to move to Paris, the gang throws her a going-away party. She gives each of her friends, except one, an individual emotional goodbye, which leaves everyone, including fans, sobbing in what was one of Friends’ saddest episodes.

As expected, Ross isn’t happy he didn’t get his goodbye, however, this leads to one of the most heartfelt moments between the pair. Even though it’s a stretch to even call it a party, it still holds a special place in fans’ hearts and is one of the most emotional episodes throughout the 10 seasons.

9 Emma’s First Birthday Party (Season 10, Episode 4)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

The combination of everyone wanting to be elsewhere and Emma not waking up from her nap meant this party was shaping up to be a good one.

After Ross and Rachel are forced to leave (a picture of Emma’s face ended up on an erotic cake), the rest of the group sees this as the perfect opportunity to leave. When they realize someone needs to stay to look after Emma, the main event soon turns into a tense toy race. This isn’t your standard birthday party, but watching four adults race wind-up toys can’t disappoint.

8 Phoebe’s Bachelorette Party (Season 10, Episode 11)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

Phoebe’s bachelorette party was never going to be the civilized afternoon tea-style party that Monica and Rachel had planned. In a bid to give Phoebe the send-off she truly wants, they have no choice but to order a last-minute stripper.

Hilarity ensues when Danny DeVito cameos in Friends as the stripper, and although he took some time to get used to (and after a few tears) he ends up doing his last dance as a stripper for Phoebe, giving her the bachelorette party she always wanted.

7 Jack Geller’s Birthday Party (Season 2, Episode 16)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

It’s safe to say that for anyone attending, this party was more awkward than anything else. When Monica turns up with her secret boyfriend, Richard, who is also Jack’s best friend, something was bound to go wrong.

After the word spreads about Richard’s new “twinkie in the city,” it forces them to reveal all about their relationship. To make matters worse for Monica, Jack and Judy decided to have some fun in the bathroom, the same bathroom she was hiding in, meaning she heard it all. This was definitely a party that the Gellers and fans would never forget.

6 Joey’s Birthday Party (Season 3, Episode 11)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

Shortly after their breakup, Chandler bumps into Janice and her husband, which results in him getting severely drunk at Joey’s birthday party. When Joey’s seven sisters show up, it was only going to go downhill from there.

Chandler’s drunken antics find him in the storeroom fooling around with one of Joey’s sisters, but he has a slight problem the next morning when he can’t remember which sister. Drunk Chandler graces fans’ screens a few times over the seasons, but never like this, not to mention that he even kisses Ross.

5 Monica’s 30th Birthday Party (Season 7, Episode 14)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

In “The One Where They All Turn 30,” Chandler throws Monica a surprise party, and it’s more formal than the average birthday fete. Like normal, all the friends attend, as well as Monica’s parents.

Depressed about turning 30, Monica gets taken out for drinks and turns up to her party drunk, something Chandler tries to hide from her parents. Drunk Monica isn’t someone that fans get to see often in the series, so that makes this party extra special, especially when she passes out after her speech letting her parents know their little Harmonica is hammered.

4 Monica And Chandler’s Wedding Reception (Season 8, Episode 1)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

Watching Monica and Chandler get married was something that fans had been waiting for, for it’s no surprise that the party afterward didn’t disappoint. Although this is most likely because the party centers on the pregnancy rumors that are flying about.

Once it’s confirmed that Rachel’s pregnant, it doesn’t stop there, and the next thing is figuring out who the father is. Not to mention whilst all this is going on, Ross is seated at the kids’ table because he’s trying to impress a girl and Joey is dressed as a tennis player — just the average wedding reception!

3 Ross and Emily’s Wedding Reception (Season 5, Episode 1)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

Weddings in Friends are normally a happy occasion, but the same can’t be said for this one, which is what makes it so great. The only thing that would make it better is if Phoebe was there in person.

Whilst the drama unfolds between Ross and Emily, resulting in Emily climbing out the bathroom window, it’s made even better by Chandler and Monica secretly attempting to continue their newfound intimate relationship. After Ross said Rachel’s name at the altar, everything changed.

2 Days Of Our Lives Cast Party (Season 9, Episode 20)

Friends 10 Best Parties Ranked

After the gang finds out about his secret Days of Our Lives party on the roof, Joey is forced to invite them all – except Chandler, who misses the memo and gets stuck at a one-woman show.

At the party, Ross wants Charlie, and Rachel wants Joey, yet somehow Charlie and Joey end up getting together. Whilst this is happening, Monica’s getting her bra signed by a member of the cast. Five “normal” people at a party surrounded by celebrities set this party up to be one of the best in the series.

1 Rachel’s Two Birthday Parties (Season 2, Episode 22)

With Rachel’s parents recently getting a divorce, the gang has to ensure the two don’t run into each other on Rachel’s birthday, which leads to the tale of two parties. Monica’s perhaps shouldn’t even be in the running, but the other party had indoor volleyball, making it impossible to ignore.

Their plan is on the verge of succeeding, and in a final bid to prevent the Green’s from running into each other, Joey kisses Rachel’s mom. This cements it as being the best party across the 10 seasons.
