Genshin Impact Companion MoveIn & Trust Ranks Explained

The Version 1.6 update of Genshin Impact is called “Midsummer Island Adventure” and will be releasing next week. The latest content will feature a new island to explore, events to participate in, and Kazuha becoming playable for the first time. However, it will also come with some changes to the game’s housing system and Serenitea Pot, allowing companions to move in with players.

Although a lot of attention may be on what’s new in the next update, Genshin Impact 1.6 will arrive with the typical quality-of-life improvements and changes fans have come to expect in updates. Some of the biggest improvements in Version 1.6 are to the housing system. Now, characters can move into the player’s Serenitea Pot thanks to the new Companion Move-In feature.

In order to unlock this feature, players will first need to have completed the “Idle Teapot Talk” quest. From here, players can choose to invite a companion into their housing realm. Companions will be marked on the minimap in the Serenitea Pot, making them easy to find. However, there’s more than just getting to walk around with characters like Kaeya and Jean with these latest Genshin Impact Serenitea Pot changes. Companions inside the realm will also continuously gain Companionship EXP.

Genshin Impact 1.6 Housing’s Trust Rank & Friendship

The latest housing system changes in Genshin Impact are all about deepening bonds with other characters. The longer companions stay inside the Serenitea Pot with players, the more Companionship EXP they’ll receive. Companionship EXP can be claimed from the Realm Bounty, just like Realm Currency. A higher Friendship Level will unlock more conversations with that companion.

Eventually, players will increase the overall Trust Rank with companions in the Serenitea Pot. The higher the Trust Rank, the higher the number of companions who can stay. However, the amount of companions is currently capped at eight in Version 1.6. Additionally, players can make favorite furnishings for their companions to get these characters to like them even more – and it will also earn players rewards. For example, the Idyllic Town furnishings set could be favored by Amber, and crafting and then turning in these furnishings will result in Amber rewarding players with Primogems.

The Furnishings Blueprints can be found in the Realm Depot, and since Version 1.6 will allow the Crafting Bench to be used in Co-Op Mode, players should have no problem creating the necessary materials for their characters. The Companion Move-In feature in Genshin Impact is something fans have wanted since the housing system was first introduced a few months ago, so it’s great to see that it will finally be implemented in the next update.
