Genshin Impact Players Demand Permanent Login Bonus In Future Update

Genshin Impact players are demanding changes to the game’s login rewards, suggesting developer miHoYo make it available every day rather than a 7-day reward system that refreshes every 3 weeks. As the game receives constant updates, and more and more characters continue to be added. A few weeks ago, Genshin Impact released its first major update, Version 1.1, which introduced Diona and Childe to the game, and Zhongli and Xinyan are up next. With so many new characters, it becomes difficult to maintain enough resources to level everyone up.

The current log-in system Genshin Impact uses is the Seize the Day event, which lasts for 3 weeks. There are 7 rewards the player can collect, and each day the player logs in gives them the next reward. This means if the player logs in every day for a week, they’ve collected all the rewards for that event. These rewards consist of 300 Primogems (which are used to wish for more characters), 8 Hero’s Wit, 16 Mystic Enhancement Ore, and 50,000 Mora, the lattermost of which is extremely helpful in leveling up characters. This is a decent amount of rewards just for logging in, but it may feel awkward for hardcore players when they receive rewards for a week and then get nothing for the next two weeks. Players expect consistency, especially when the game can be so expensive.

Vinderaz made a post on Reddit asking the developer for a permanent login reward system rather than the current Seize the Day system. Their suggestion is to increase the amount of Hero’s Wit and Mystic Enhancement Ores players get but spread out the rewards every day rather than a 3-week event, making comparisons to another game miHoYo created, called Honkai Impact. Vinderaz suggests using the same system that title uses, which is reward calendars. The post received a lot of traction, gaining 10,000 upvotes and becoming one of the top posts on the subreddit, so it’s clear that this one player is not the only one who feels this way.

However, one of the major flaws of the current system Vinderaz suggests is that it would demand more of players for a similar reward. Requiring the player to log in every day of the month to receive resources they can currently get in a week would be more of a grind, especially when many players don’t live and breath Genshin Impacte. In contrast, the Seize the Day event is far more forgiving, only requiring the player to log in 7 out of 21 days. While it may feel awkward for determined fans who play every day, it is a much better system for the average player. It might be asking a lot to receive more free rewards though, seeing as miHoYo recently gave Fishcl for free in the latest event.

A good compromise between both systems would be simply having both in the game but making the reward calendar give substantially fewer rewards. This way, the average player won’t feel as bad for missing out on the daily goodies, but hardcore fans can feel rewarded for their daily activities. Genshin Impact is one of the most successful gacha games out of many, so it may be smart for miHoYo to listen to its audience in order to keep them around.
