Hosts of Get Organized With The Home Edit Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin are de-cluttering connoisseurs, and their prices certainly match their expertise. The new Netflix series follows The Home Edit founders as they color code and label the homes of celebrities and everyday people in its eight-episode season. But the women’s skills don’t come cheap.
Clea and Joanna started The Home Edit, a home organization business, in 2015, and have become a household name since. Over the past five years, the Home Edit has grown a massive social media following, racking up 1.7 million Instagram followers and a cohort of celebrity fans, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Retta. Clea and Joanna started out offering home visits and personalized organizational tips, but have since expanded to nine nationwide, franchised offices, a home goods line, and a New York Times best-selling guide book. Netflix is their latest venture, but it isn’t their first foray into television. In 2018, Clea and Joanna landed a DirectTV show called Master the Mess executive-produced by Reese Witherspoon, who also executive-produces Get Organized With The Home Edit. For fans looking to experience their own Home Edit makeover, they better be ready to shell out the big bucks.
According to The Home Edit website, the price of an in-home, full-service visit from two Home Edit staffers varies by region. Across their nine nationwide locations, Nashville is the cheapest at $185 per hour, and there’s a four-way tie for most expensive ($250 per hour) between New York, Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Bay Area/ San Francisco. Each session comes with a 30-minute virtual consult before the visit.
Joanna and Clea are based in Nashville, so Nashville customers could get lucky with a visit from the founders themselves, although the site does not list information to specifically request their services. Celebrities, however, are likely to pay thousands for their in-person visits due to extra fees. Customers outside of the nine specified regions, or those who request Clea and Joanna to leave Nashville (like many of the celebrities featured in the show), have to pay for airfare, traveling expenses, and team member wages. The quote isn’t based on set pricing and can differ based on time of the year, location, and trip duration.
Over two hundred dollars an hour is a sizable chunk of money to be spent on organization, so more cost-conscious consumers could start by purchasing Joanna and Clea’s book for $15 before shelling out their Christmas present fund on Get Organized With The Home Edit services.
