Ghost Rider Could Be Ditching His Muscle Car For A Minivan

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Marvel Voices: Comunidades #1

One of the most defining new elements of Robbie Reyes’ iteration of Ghost Rider is his Dodge Charger that is imbued with the power of hellfire and becomes the Hell Charger whenever Robbie is driving it as Ghost Rider, but the antihero may be trading in his muscle car for a minivan. While the look of the Hell Charger is arguably more hardcore than the original Ghost Rider’s Hell Cycle, it simply isn’t practical enough to fulfill Robbie’s everyday needs, sparking Ghost Rider to consider making the switch.

In the Marvel Voices: Comunidades story “Loco-Motion” by Yehudi Mercado and Mauro Fodra, Robbie Reyes is taking his little brother, Gabe, to a doctor’s appointment, taking the L.A. train as Gabe’s wheelchair can’t fit in the trunk of Robbie’s Dodge. When Gabe complains about taking the train, Robbie explains the reason why they can’t drive to the appointment and makes a point to tell his little brother that he isn’t getting a minivan, so their only choice is to ride the train. However, Robbie soon changes his tune about the possibility of trading in his American Muscle for a spacious minivan.

After an altercation breaks out between Ghost Rider and an aggressive hate group while waiting for the train, Robbie and Gabe arrive late to the doctor’s appointment. While their tardiness was mostly due to Ghost Rider attempting to scare the racist group straight, he wouldn’t have been in that situation at all if the two had a minivan big enough to load Gabe’s wheelchair into. When they get to the doctor’s office, their regular nurse reprimands Robbie, at which point Ghost Rider debates making a change to his vehicle saying, “Maybe I could make a minivan look hot…”.

While pretty clearly a situational joke, Ghost Rider still says that he’s considering getting a minivan, leading fans to wonder what the selling points for a Hell Van could look like. Equipped with automatic sliding doors, ample trunk space, and reasonable gas mileage, the Hell Van would be perfect for demonic road trips and hellish day-long outings for any Ghost Rider! A reliable hellfire vehicle that would make the souls of one’s enemies shake with fear, and enough room for taking dozens of their corpses to hell with three rows of seats!

The thought of Ghost Rider enacting hellish vengeance upon the evildoers of Los Angeles in a flaming minivan is truly a comical one. While the practical vehicle would be great for transporting his brother, Gabe, it wouldn’t exactly instill the fear needed for villains to take Ghost Rider seriously. However, Robbie does always put his brother first and he did say that he could make a minivan look hot, so it is all too possible that Ghost Rider could be ditching his muscle car for a minivan.
