Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

Georgia Miller is used to relying on only herself to get through the day. The troubled Ginny & Georgia main character has made many mistakes in her life and even committed some crimes, and while she can’t run from those emotions late at night, she manages to put on a happy face for other people.

Georgia is a compelling protagonist as sometimes, she only thinks about herself and how she will benefit from a certain situation. Other times, she has Austin and Ginny’s best interests at heart, and all she wants is to be a good parent.

10 Selfish: Stole Money From The Town

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

Georgia has always looked out for herself and stealing money from the town was definitely a selfish act.

Georgia was in a tough spot as she didn’t receive the money from her late husband Kenny that she assumed she would. Since his ex-wife hired a P.I. and they both felt that Georgia had something to do with his death, it didn’t look like she would get that cash anytime soon. Georgia did what she thought was smart and took some money, but it was a selfish move as she could have gotten into a ton of trouble.

9 Selfless: Moved To Wellsbury For Ginny’s Well-Being

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

There are pros and cons to living in Wellsbury but it’s fair to say that Ginny liked it a lot. She connected with the friend group that became MANG and even had two love interests. The reason why she and her family moved there was very dark and upsetting, though.

After seeing Kenny touch Ginny inappropriately, Georgia came up with her plan to poison him, and once he was gone, it was time to move on and find a new home. This was a time when Georgia was selfless as she wanted to protect Ginny.

8 Selfish: Began Dating The Town’s Mayor Right Away

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

Ginny & Georgia set up a smart love triangle between Zion, Georgia, and Paul as she had awesome chemistry and a strong bond with both men.

But while Georgia seemed to develop real feelings for Paul over time, at first it seemed like she only wanted to date him so she would stay in his good graces and could continue working for him. She also wanted to be closely connected to someone who could keep her out of trouble. This was a time when Georgia was only looking out for herself. It was also selfish to start dating someone right away, as Austin and Ginny were still getting used to their new town.

7 Selfless: Made Sure Ginny Got An After-School Job

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

While Ginny wasn’t thrilled about working at Blue Farm, Georgia knew it would be good for her to have a job.

Georgia was being selfless here as she wanted her daughter to make some of her own money, become more independent, and create some connections in Wellsbury. Ginny might not have seen it that way as she resented being forced to get an after-school job, but she seemed to like talking to Joe.

6 Selfish: Didn’t Help Austin With His Problems At School

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

When Austin got in trouble for hurting a classmate with a pencil, Georgia was upset that her child was being bullied, but she thought he was right to retaliate. She didn’t seem to take too much notice of this situation and told the school that she was taking care of it, but it was a lie.

Georgia was being selfish by focusing on her own problems instead of helping her child. The school thought it would be a good idea for Austin to go to therapy and Georgia refused, but that could definitely have been helpful here.

5 Selfless: Hid Her Tragic Past From Her Children

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

Georgia’s past includes abuse and running away from home at a young age, along with having Ginny when she was a teenager.

Georgia hid her past from her kids as she knew that it would be disturbing for them to hear about everything she had gone through. While Ginny was upset when she realized how much her mom kept secret, it does make sense that Georgia would want to keep her family safe. She knew that she would tell them when the time was right.

4 Selfish: Helped The Town Because She Wanted A Job

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

When Georgia went to a town meeting, she knew that the wealthy parents of Wellsbury would be thrilled if Joe gave students a healthy, organic lunch. She knew that Joe had interns on his farm whom he didn’t pay, and if he didn’t say yes to this new idea, she would get him in trouble.

Georgia planned this in advance so she would get a job in the mayor’s office. While the town did benefit from her idea, she was the one who lucked out most of all, and this was how she usually acted.

3 Selfless: Wanted Ginny To Have A Great 16th Birthday

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

Ginny & Georgia did a great job of portraying the high school experience and that included Ginny’s 16th birthday.

Georgia wanted Ginny to have a memorable birthday and set up a spa day in their house for Ginny and her friends. She was selfless because she put a thought of time, thought, and energy into it, even though she was dealing with a lot of drama in her personal life.

2 Selfish: Wasn’t Clear On Her Feelings For Zion

Ginny & Georgia 5 Times Georgia Was Selfish (& 5 She Was Selfless)

Fans got to see more of Zion when he came to town and spent time with his family. When Zion made it obvious that he wanted to settle down with Georgia, she kept playing with his heart the same way that she always had.

This situation is another example of Georgia’s selfishness, as she should have respected Zion enough to explain to him what she wanted. Instead, she chose not to act at all and he left, leaving things even more complicated.

1 Selfless: Didn’t Kick Maddie Out Right Away

Georgia made many choices over the years that involved looking out for herself and committing crimes.

When her sister Maddie came to visit, Georgia could have yelled at her and told her to leave immediately, but she ignored her instincts and her desire to forget all about her past and let her stay for a while. Of course, this ended up being a disaster as she learned that Maddie was betraying her, but she at least tried to show her family some compassion and understanding.
